So my husband and I live on MY island...I water and hybrid-grow religiously, he doesn't because he barely plays. Will it make a difference in regards to flower/hybrid growth if HE waters the flowers on our island? Or, is it just friends from another island who water that make the difference? TIA

The bonus only applies to players visiting from other islands. Native residents do not count towards this, so if your husband watered them, you would only get the base +5% chance.

Yup! It does not make a difference if you or you husband waters flowers. Only friends from a different island can affect the spawn chance.
