In many towns there are designs that are designed to look like streams, ponds, rivers, et cetera. I know some individuals don't like it because it doesn't look natural, it doesn't flow or a different opinionated view. What is your perspective and take on these water designs?

I think it needs to be somewhat simple though. If it looks too realistic then it looks out of the AC world.

Like most things in any game if they're done well I think they all a lot to a town and look amazing, but if they're not I think it looks really tacky and just completely terrible.

As vague as this answer is, I think it really depends on what the design is. Some water designs are quite beautiful while others just look really bad and sometimes even out of place. I prefer a more natural water look.

I never like them, to be honest. I think it's impossible to make them look good because you simply can't design a moving pattern, and water doesn't look like water if it's totally motionless. Just my opinion, of course.

Out of curiosity, why do you think they look dumb? I think it puts more creativity and features into a town.

They're fake water. Why add fake water to a game that already has water? When you walk over them it sounds like grass. It's just silly.

I don't like them unless the boundary is stone or a custom tile. Because otherwise they don't match the grass as the season changes, which sucks.

I love my moat paths in Bunifrey, especially because the borders have little bunny faces designs. It was just too perfect to NOT use.

And some water QR paths look really beautiful, but water paths take a certain level of skill to make well.

I like them. I'm always 50/50 on it but I have it. I get that it can be weird since the town already has real water but it gives you more options in designing. Also depends which pattern, some aren't as good as others.

I like them but I don't have any in my town due to pattern slot limitations. This is something that is best presented in moderation, because yeah, it looks unnatural if the town is over-saturated with them, in my opinion. I found a really beautiful one with flower petals but I doubt I'll ever be able to use it since I don't have any plans to create another character.

My fave is when they do like just little bits here and there, it can be overdone really easily. I like ones like this.

I think it's cute with the little bridges and how it's just a little square , makes it looks cute. But big blocks of the water look really bad imo X.X
