warped tour 2013.

anybody going (or gone already)? i was just curious because i haven't seen any mention of it on this site. makes me feel like i could be the only one
i'm driving down to virginia beach from dc tomorrow to go on tuesday, the 9th. i'm really stoked to see the wonder years, secrets, hands like houses, man overboard, and like moths to flames but attila, silverstein, and the story so far are at the top of my list. i'm kind of disappointed, though. from what i've seen the lineups have been getting progressively worse each year but this year it's really, really bad. there's only a handful of bands worth actually seeing. not a complaint, just an observation.

I went last year against my better judgement, thinking I might at least encounter some people actually interested in good music. While I did encounter a few of those types, they were all advertising their local bands and hawking CDs. The rest of the people were mostly tweens/teens displaying their hilarious party t-shirts from their last trip to their local mall's Hot Topic. "DUBSTEP = LIFE" indeed. It was either **** like that or a Black Veil Brides shirt. Not sure why the shirts bothered me so much. As for the bands, I knew that was likely to be a near-total loss. I wasn't disappointed in that department. There've probably only been a half dozen bands in the tour's entire history that I would pay money to see, let alone $50. You're probably right about the declining quality.

Oh, and it was hot as hell and really dusty. And crowded. But that you have to expect.

well, that's to be expected. you're gonna find people shoving their band down your throat at any event like that. i always listen to them out of courtesy, but more often than not they're terrible. oh, you can't forget the 13 year old girls that think its cute to cake on makeup and wear the skimpiest bikini they can get their hands on. i understand that it's hot but it's not necessary to show off everything you have; you aren't going to impress anybody. i'm just curious, who do you listen to?

I actually bought an EP on CD off of one of the local people there, it wasn't bad.
