Ok so ive been lurking on some forums and tags on tumblr and i see these beautiful walkways and gardens and such and i would love to do that to my town.
Heres my problem: I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START :(

I know a few patterns that i would love to use and the general theme i want to go for but i dont know how to really make the walkways with all the houses and trees and such in the way.

(ive also only had the game for about 2-3 weeks now, ive also never had a visitor yet)

My grass is brown and ugly and i just want my town somewhat eye pleasing....if anyone could give me some tips, hints or magical powers that would be awesome!!!

I am in the same boat as you. I found and made paths I would love to use, but I have simply no idea where to start since I suck at designing and some of my villagers have moved into terrible spots anyway. Heck, I haven't even built the campsite yet because I just can't make my mind up where to place it.

I think the first question you should ask yourself is what kind of town you want to make. If you don't want all that many trees/flowers (as in, you want to make a modern, urban town), you might run into problems when it comes to getting the perfect town rating later, so you might want to go for that before you start the big revamp.

Then, from what I've heard, it's generally suggested to chop down all trees (save enough fruits!) and basically look at your blank town. And yeah...I guess looking at your map to see where paths and bridges would look good. Having a decent number of PWPs unlocked helps as well so that your town won't look empty for long.

When it comes so creative decorating, though...yeah, I'm lost. No clue about that. I tell myself that I'll go for the perfect town rating with my town first so I can ignore the fact that I don't even know what I want to do, haha.

Well ive fallen in love with the mermaid set and kinda wanna do a water/purple/ocean type theme for my village with blues and purples and junk.
Im trying to build a fountain atm but of course that has taken me forever and a day.
I guess seeing all these amazing towns and such makes me a little impatient hehe

I had no idea either for the longest time.
Just start placing paths wherever. Buildings and Projects can be used as general guides.

Have a dream of my town if you'd like a simple effective example.

Really what I did was start by creating paths from my house to the Re-Tail, plaza, etc. Then I laid paths around the my forever villagers houses. From there I just added on as I got new pwps and such. I also visited a lot of dream towns for inspiration. It's nothing something that's gonna happen right away, but a project that will last a long time and keep you busy in game. My town's still a big work in progress but I'm glad because I haven't grown bored of the game yet

Just pick something and go with it. Sure, everything may look amazing on Tumblr, but that takes time. Just set something up, see where it goes.
