Alright, so I've been reading about VPN's and have decided to use a bit of software called Hamachi. My goal is to have an internet LAN party, so my friends and I don't have to go to the trouble of transporting computers. So, what I have learned so far is how to create and join networks via Hamachi, what I don't know is how it all connects together. A "network over the internet" just doesn't make any sense to me. I understand how my home network works, but VPN is a bit confusing.
Does anyone have any experience with VPN gaming, and could give me a bit of help? All is appreciated.
