It's pretty easy to make your house unique but there isn't much variation from town to town apart from flower and tile choice. I was super excited about this feature but it's kind of groundhog day . I hope they have more variation in the next games

I think that there are so many things that make towns unique! For example the public works projects you decide to build, and where you put them...what type of paths do you have? Maybe you use dirt paths. Where do your paths lead to? Villager homes, as well. Maybe one town will have them lined up perfectly in rows, or another have them scattered all over their town.
There are also town themes! A story town like Aika, a fairy-tale town, or a natural forest town.

With the ability to import QR designs and the pwp feature I think New Leaf did a great job in allowing players to personalise their towns to the fullest c:

I think new leaf offers many choices to customise your town to the fullest. I suppose people might just like the same kind of appearance? I always love visiting other people's towns to see just how they decorated areas.

One reason why I like my two towns is because they're easy to navigate. I worked on them for quite a while. (Well, I've had my first town, Applewin, since I started playing "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" in August 2013.)

If you mean when you're going through the Dream Suite, I've found that a lot of people tend to update their DA as soon as they unlock it, which is pretty early in the game, so there's not a lot of customization done on their towns yet. If you want to see something different try going to the DAs of people who advertise their town, either on here or tumblr or wherever else. There's so many ways to make a town unique.
