Sorry if there is a similar thread, I tried to search. I've been doing a lot of research trying to figure out how to get her to GO ugh.

There are currently 10 villagers in my town. I greeted her the first day she came, since then I've been ignoring her. And she just will not leave. Last night I was doing the skip 2 days forward then 2 days back method to get people to move... I did it for well over 5 hours and she never asked to leave. Everyone else tried to leave like 5 times but not Violet!

So today I decided to just skip forward day by day until people suggest moving. Still, she never asked. I went all the way into March. I got to celebrate my birthday and the wish I made was "Violet moves" xP

Ahhhhhh what can I do! She frustrates me so much, I've read that a few other people have had a hard time getting rid of her too... I can't even enjoy the game with her around, her face instills so much bitterness hahah. ANY idea how I can get rid of her?

Be her friend. Once you befriend her and get her friendship level high, she'll be more likely to move.

Yeah what's said up there :) animals ping more when theyre you're friend, so ignoring them actually has a negative effect if you want to get them out.

I'm not a pro cycler so I could be wrong about this, but you might not have talked to her enough to get her to ping you?
Usually I can't get them to move until they've started warming up to me a bit more and start pinging me frequently.
I hope you can find a solution though villager who refuse to leave are such a pain. :p

I didn't mean to be repetitive, didn't see the other post. >///>;

I've had Violet from someone's void and I was really mad lol. I feel your pain. Not to mention I lost a dreamie trying to get her to leave so my bitterness for her is probably 2x yours.

With that said, getting villagers to move is completely random. :/ Befriending and ignoring them doesn't really affect anything. I have a cycle town and I've had villagers leave the moment they first step out from their house and villagers who don't budge. You just have to pray that the odds are in your favor. uwu

Thanks guys, I'll try that. Time to keep cycling and talking to Violet like she's my bff haha.

I did talk to her once recently and she was like "oh, we're on speaking terms now?" xP

Here goes!

I know that if you've ignored them for a while and they think you're not speaking to them, they won't ping you at all. Once you've spoken to them and you get the "oh we're speaking?" comment then they will start pinging you like normal. :]

befriending always works best.
i did that for charlise, ugh.

Just want to debunk the whole "Violet never moves" thing.
She was in my town for like a week and a half and then she moved out. Don't flat out ignore villagers from the start!

Hallelujah there's hope! :)

I've started talking to her, she gave me a shirt lol. But still, everyone except her tries to move. I issued a "no one leaves until Violet leaves" act lol, and wouldn't let anyone else leave because I wanted her to be the one to go. But I decided to let someone else leave to see if it might stir up some cabin fever within that darn gorilla. xP So off went Avery. I liked him, he shared my birthday, and he was pretty new. But he also moved into a really inconvenient spot (my orchard), so it had to be him.

The quest to rid my town of Violet continues...

UGH she still won't leave. Played so many hours last night and today, everyone else has left my town. Seriously I might just new game it, I'm so sick of her

Had the same problem with Gigi, who I got from someone's void. I never spoke to her after introducing and it took her about 10 (or more) other villagers moving out for her to finally get a hint. She was also my 10th villager when she moved in.

The other 10 villagers were given the same treatment as her. Introduced myself and ignored them completely. With this method, some moved out after a week, some longer. Some never moved out at all. I can't remember which ones they were, but they were campers and random move ins alike. I remember that I had Diana move in from camp, I introduced myself then ignored, and a week later she was in boxes. Tutu and Gigi, who came from other people's voids, were introduced to and ignored, and both of them took much longer to get rid of. Tutu's stay was shorter, and I think it was because she was a 9th, not a 10th. For Gigi, I had to time travel months before she actually moved out. It was January when she moved in, and she left during summer season.

I had this idea that villagers coming from other towns or the void take longer to leave than others, especially if they are the 10th move in. I'm not 100% sure so that's why I'm asking around and looking for threads like these. Did your Violet come from another town?

I had to reset my town that time because I had 9 villagers I wanted to keep already, but Gigi stayed. So I was forced to give away my other villagers (all of them practically dreamies) because I couldn't take just voiding them in reset. It was so terrible, I know how you feel. :c

Okay, I'll definitely confirm that the friendship ladder is the best way to get a villager to move.

Now what evidence do I have? It has to do with getting rid of a few villagers in my town. Now I've looked up somewhere that ignoring a villager is the best way to get them to move. But the game got crafty with this. The ignoring method in my opinion took the longest and in a few cases, getting a villager to move proved impossible and here's how:

When they do the reaction emotion, they will ask to leave, usually. Now, if you've ignored this villager a lot and they ask to move, when you say goodbye to them or tell them to go, they won't move. Instead, they'll stay regardless in order to "become your friend". This is the friendship ladder in action. They realize you haven't made it that far up their ladder so when you tell them to leave, they get offended and discard your choice for them to leave altogether.

Now I decided to become a villager's best friend with the experimentation of allowing them to move when they soon asked. When they asked to move, I let them, and surprise surprise, they went ahead with my choice. See, in the game, the villager has to be your best friend so when they move, they won't get sad when you say goodbye. Instead, they'll thank you for the memories and exit the town on the given day.

Ignoring a villager might've been the best option to get them to move, however, the less they know you, the less likely they'll ever come up to you with the 'reaction' or reject your offer to let them move. Making it almost impossible for them to ever leave.

So as hard as it probably is for you, befriend Violet like you would with your other villagers, chances are, she'll ask to leave much sooner and she'll move when you say goodbye.

I actually do think the friendship ladder is a good way to make villagers move out, but when you're cycling, you just don't have the time to do all that befriending. So I think both ignoring and befriending works well. I say this because when I tried to move out my starters, I was already friends with them, so yes, it was easier. However, when I started to cycle before resetting, I just didn't have time to befriend everyone, so I used the ignoring method.

I think what befriending does is let them ping you to move. If you ignore them completely, one day they'll just be in boxes. It's the same rate, actually. When I was trying to move out Willow for a giveaway, all the other villagers I ignored moved out before she did, and I was really good friends with her.

Being good friends with them gives you about 90% of chance that they will move if you agree. Zucker was a good friend, when I agreed to let him move, he said he changed his mind because we were besties. I didn't expect that because I thought the friendship ladder would allow me to let him move out if I say so, and I couldn't reset because I had already done a lot on that day, so I ended up having him stay in town (and he got voided during reset :c).

Basically, there's still a lot of mysteries regarding villagers moving out. Test everything out. If ignoring doesn't work, befriend them. Ignoring them just won't let them ping you, but they will still move if they're planning to (other villagers will talk about it though: "Ugly is going to move! We should stop them!").

I FINALLY GOT RID OF HER!

So I took your guys' advice about being her bff. I was friendly to her, just talked to her thinking that might make her more likely to leave. She said something about how she loved Scotch and all of the nice people, even though me and her weren't good friends lol. So I was like... okay let's be GOOD friends.... I did everything she wanted, came over to her house, and still with a few more cycles she didn't ask to leave... I was literally in the parking lot of a best buy like, I can't take this lol, I'm just gonna buy a new game and play it until I feel ready to try to cycle through until Violet leaves xP But I tried once more and HURRAY she asked to leave! Zomg I'm so relieved. Now I have like over 100 gyroids, many more that I need to dig up, and it's in the middle of spring so I need to TT back, but she is GONE. I played like 15 hours in the past 2 days just cycling constantly, trying to get her to leave. I definitely think the friendship thing is what got her to finally go away.

I've been using that with the couple of other people that I want to leave too and one of them already said she's moving :) Yay!

I can go back to enjoying my game now haha. Thanks everyone for the tips! I'm so relieved!

Violet is such a sweetheart though!! Originally I wanted her out as soon as possible and even said "Go ahead, leave!" to her. A day after, she looked sooooooo sad and said "Aw I really wish I didn't have to go..." She's so sweet! I started sending her letters after that and she always send really humble sweet letters :)

She may not be much to look at, but she really is a sweetheart :)

lol, that's true, but I hated the way she always called me Sweetie. Well that was her phrase, but still, she'd always be like "Lennox, sweetie..." I'm not your sweetie xP lol, the fact that she just wouldn't go away destroyed her image for me. No matter if she were cute and that she's kind. I couldn't stand her anymore lol, it was like she was nice to me just to spite me D:

I just got these pics on my computer and thought I'd share them here lol. They're from when she was asking about my birthday wish and us not being BFFs xD
