Oh, I saw this not long ago! Goose and Curlos were having barbecue last Sunday morning. I felt a little bad because I ended up kicking Curlos out via Amiibo villager, and then Goose was barbecuing all by himself because Curlos was suddenly, mysteriously in boxes.
So why can't we interact and carry around a shiskabob to? Leaves a bad taste in my mouth that we can only observe from a looking glass and feel like we're not actually part of the island experience.
I’ve seen my villagers hanging around a barbecue on my plaza a couple times; was disappointed that I couldn’t interact with it and take out a shish kebob and eat (or at the very least, pretend to be be ready to eat something like in HHD). Also, I’m not sure what to think of Dom being among of the villagers I see eating from the barbecue.
I encountered the barbecue the other day with Rolf, Dom and Raymond. It looked interesting, but they didn't interact with one another or made funny faces so it wasn't as fun to see as villagers zooming around or singing at the plaza.
It reminded me of the barbecue event in Tomodachi Life, which was actually hilarious because as the barbecue (in TomoLife) progressed, the mii faces got darker and darker with soot, even as they kept talking about the barbecue and traded anecdotes. If only that also happened in NH!
