Villagers Who’s Been Your Dreamie Since Day1?

Do you have a current dreamie that has been a dreamie/favorite villager since when you first started playing or for the longest amount of time you can remember?

Personally, I just came back from a long few year break and I used to like the most frilly and girly light pink and light blue villagers like sprinkles and Freya and skye and diana, and while I still love them (they’re still super super cute and tbh even with my current dreamies you can still tell pink is my favorite color haha..), they’re no longer my favorites anymore, and I’m starting fresh with the dreamies in my sig.

So I’m just wondering if anyone has a villager in particular that has remained constant for them. Are they still in your town?

Sprocket has been one of my favorite villagers ever since I first saw him. I was incredibly annoyed he was exclusive to the N64/Gamecube versions. After years of hoping he would move into my Gamecube town, he was announced as a Welcome Amiibo villager. Now all that's left is for Wolfgang to move out of the spot I want his house in.

I've never had dreamies really, (maybe Ellie) but I do want to make a close copy of my gc town, but since there's only 10 villagers in nl vs gc, I'll have to choose and Huggy's not in NL at all. :[

Best boy Lucky. He first moved into my GameCube town many years ago and he quickly became my favourite, then later he moved into my Wild World town. I have his Amiibo card so he's in my current town in New Leaf too.

Animal Crossing just wouldn't be the same for me without my favourite character.

Derwin. I got quite a few dreamies tho, but he was my first villager that became my favorite. When I played Wild World I thought that you could make them your boyfriend/girlfriend, so I was trying so hard to get Derwin to like me back. Sent love letters (only with the lovely paper of course), decorated his garden with flowers and constantly talked to him. Until one day he moved out. I got so sad that I restarted, haha.

Oh my god I love that :') animal crossing knows how to break hearts sometimes with villagers trying to move that's for sure hahaha

I bought my first Animal Crossing game about this time last year (it was New Leaf, of course) because I saw pictures from my friends and thought it was worth a try. I started up my DS, threw in the game, started it all up, and got off the train and went outside to get greeted by the three villagers and Isabelle.

And then...

and then I saw her.

Poppy.

Adorable reddish squirrel with the sweetest personality and I just... a h I love her so much

The same day, I also met Grizzly. He immediately became a dreamy of mine as well.

So yeah. My day-one dreamies are Grizzly and Poppy. I also found Axel, the blue athletic elephant, who moved in a day after my town was built, and fell in love with him. But all of my other dreamies didn't come in until way later.

I have loved Joey and Rod since Wild World. When I restarted my main town in New Leaf, Joey was one of the three original villagers, and he's been in that town ever since. Those two villagers will always be my favorites. They are irreplacable, but of course, there will be other dreamies for me. The villagers I've wanted in my town have changed and they are based on character appearance, personality, and house interior, but I will always want Joey and Rod to be in one of my towns.

Cherry! Her design is so appealing to me, shes so cool. She just has so much personality and I think shes the only character with piercings. Also, Marshal, but who doesnt like him lol

I think Fuschia also has piercings but I think they are the only two!! I love that they have piercings lol

Stitches, I actually didn't like him before either. It wasn't until I invited him to my town that he became my favorite.

The other three I've liked for the longest are Mira, Poppy, and Kid Cat.

I've been a fan of Hopper's design since the GameCube days and actually had him as a starting resident in my original, unfortunately shortlived, town that I restarted and renamed to align more with my friend's town. It took some time but I eventually reacquired him some time ago. I'm unsure of whether it was months or years ago at this point as I take long hiatuses from New Leaf to refresh my interest after binging on it for a period of time. He's a resident of my all-bird town and is the penguin representative.

There's also Boomer, who I liked back in the GameCube days but who I didn't get much exposure to since he was island exclusive. I have his amiibo card and intend to scan him in to become a resident of my circus/magic show-themed town at some point in the future.

Pietro became an favorite once I found out about his existence and he has been the next door neighbor to my mayor in my main, horror-themed town for years now. I'm not scared of clowns, but enough people seem to be that I figured I may as well have him there.

Octavian became a favorite when I first saw him in my friend's town back in the GameCube days and he subsequently snuck into my town after a visit, much to my friend's annoyance. I immediately sought to reclaim him in New Leaf and he's been a resident of my main town for years.

There's also Ankha and Lucky, both of whom are also residents of that main town. I wish their houses were closer together these days (or, really, that Ankha's house was somewhere else in town than where it actually is because she was a starting villager I sought out and settled on the first map that had them in it) but it is what it is and I'm glad that they're still there.

There's also Ribbot, who I thought was neat in the GameCube game and who I came to appreciate even more in New Leaf. I wish there were more robot villagers and am glad that Sprocket returned to the series. Ribbot is a villager in my fourth town and I plan to move Sprocket into that same town so they can hang out together.


I have a bunch of other dream villagers, some of which I've acquired, some of which I'm still seeking out, some of which just didn't fit into the themes of my towns and that I might seek to acquire in the Switch game, and some of which I might like more than some listed above. However, while I have all these numerous other dream villagers I haven't listed above, they weren't really Day 1 Dreamies as I came to like them more as time passed.

In my very first town (couple of years ago), Nan was the very first villager to move in. She decided to move next to my house, and I fell in love with her right away. She is, by far, my favorite villager and living in my current town too.

I never had a dreamy per-say, but ever since I found out that Claude wasn't going to be in New Leaf, I was devastated. He was my favorite lazy of all time. When the amiibo cards came out and I found out he was returning, I just about cried. I think I may have actually, lol. I pre-ordered about ten packs so I would be sure to get a Claude card. I now have him in three of my towns: Le Ciel (my French town), Dawn (my all-rabbit town) and Tea Cozy (my bakery town).

Pinky was my favorite villager from my Gamecube town and when I discovered that I could adopt villagers from other towns in ACNL, I had to get a New Leaf Pinky.The screenshot above is from Pinky's first day in my New Leaf town.Her catchphrase was "nyet"(must've been neighbors with Vladimir)and it took weeks to get her out of that frog shirt.
