Villagers that moved out, but won’t leave Main Street?

So I have a few villagers in my town that were there when I started it, but I got them to move out as fast as possible because I didn’t like their character.
However, these characters will not EVER leave Main Street! I wanted them to move out because I didn’t want to see them AT ALL any more! I’ll be walking around and I’ll see them in Main Street, in Nook’s, Gracie’s, and Able Sisters every single day. It’s like they never left!
For me, those characters are Dora and Penelope (both mice) and Baabara.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it pretty impossible to get them to stop coming to your town’s Main Street? Is it always the same characters, or does it change?

When one of your existing villagers moves out and you move a new villager in,one of your old Main Street villagers will leave permanently.I still have old villagers from my original ACNL town on my Main Street that moved out five years ago because I don't let anybody move from that town anymore.

Yeah I believe you just have to cycle a few more villagers out of your town and they should replace the old ones you don’t like on Main Street

I think the villagers on Main Street are linked to the 16 villager cycle. So you will continue to see them until you have moved 16 additional villagers out of your town. I've been playing for about a year and a half and letting villagers come and go pretty regularly and I've only had my first 3 move outs disappear from Main Street. All the rest of my move outs are still hanging out there.

Aaah I see! I guess I hadn?t noticed that happening yet, when I had villagers move out.
My town is already mostly full of my dreamies, though, so I may be stuck with them still. Thanks for letting me know

Wow 16!! That?s a lot of villagers too. I have almost all my dreamies in my town right now so I?ll probably just keep seeing them then!

Yes, I?ve had three villagers move out, and I?ve never seen two of them on main street, but one is there pretty much every day! It?s not a problem for me because I like that villager, but it?s kinda weird how it?s always him and not one of the others He?s even said something like ?I?m done being surprised to see you? xD
