Has anyone else here spent ages searching for a villager only to feel somewhat underwhelmed when finally obtained? I'm totally feeling that towards Bianca, she's cute enough, but she always seems to repeat what Ruby says and her house isn't much of interest either. She asked if she could move yesterday after only 4 or so days on my island and I said yes, and now she's destined for the void. I have her card, so I wouldn't rule out a comeback. But I just feel kinda disappointed you know? Anyone else ever felt this way after tracking down a villager?

Sprinkle. I really wanted her and was convinced she would complete my town but she just didn't fit once she was there. I replaced her with Puddles who I'm really liking so far.
Honestly the entire squid/octopus trio in game ended up disappointing me. When I first started playing new horizons, one of the popular animal crossing youtubers at the time had an obsession with the trio, and after looking at their design and seeing that you can have the whole species on your island while only using up 3 villager spaces, I decided I really had to have them on my island. I was extremely lucky with my nook mile tickets and got all of them within like 50 mystery island trips (my villager hunting luck has been pretty crazy), and so managed to get them all pretty early and achieve my dream. However, after a while I started to kind of dislike marina because she looked so bland and I don't really like normal villagers, and then a little while after that I started wanting to kick zucker out too because his house just lacked personality to me. In the end I kicked them all out into the void except zucker, who found a more loving home, and now my obsession has turned to wolfs. Except there's one key difference, and that's that my love for wolves will never change and they will always be the best species in the game for me, because they are just clearly superior /s.

Sterling. My favorite villager. I was so stoked to find him so early on in the game! Then I saw his house. They changed his house from this beautiful ballroom to a creepy jailhouse. Couple that with him having the exercise hobby so twice the jock talk and you have a recipe for a ruined character. I still love him to bits (he wears almost everything I give him-when he’s not wearing a tracksuit) so he’s a keeper but if I get another island I’m hunting for him so he has the base jock room instead.
TagbackTV is the one! I also had all three and kicked them all out, but I did like having Octavian. However, Dobie is the best and only room for one cranky right now

I think Ankha is the villager that disappointed me... Love her design, but I just didn't feel it with her. It's a mixture of me not liking Snooties, and her house being way too overboard on the Gold items. I mean, there's barely any room, there's no bed, and she's always on the toilet???

I hope its not cause Dobie is extremely popular, I haven't even followed tier lists for a long time so I don't know where he stands. I wanna keep Zucker soo bad but I think he’s gotta go eventually. Lucky is my favorite lazy and while the guy rocks a hotdog suit, he’s been grating on my nerves a bit. If I get a second switch he’ll probably go there tho.

In NL, it was Rudy. I loved both his name and thought he was cute so I decided why not. I ended up kicking him out soon after because we just really didn't click (especially with my dislikes towards the jocks).

I remember watching Carmen wave at her only for Judy to just stare and then walk away a few seconds later. No one disrespects my queen like that smh.

honestly..? beau... beau has been one of my fave villagers since new leaf, i think he's soooo adorable but in new horizons he's kind of.. underwhelming? ): sherb was my first lazy villager in new horizons but after i got beau, beau just repeats sherb's dialogue all the time which leads me to not interacting with him as much. he's cute for taking pictures and stuff but that's about it... it's really disappointing because in new leaf i feel like there were enough lines of dialogue to make your villagers of the same personality feel different from each other, but they've seem to have limited the dialogue in new horizons? maybe i'm wrong but either way, i wish there was more dialogue variety. i love beau a lot but i might end up replacing him with someone else eventually ):

Absolutely! I have a hard time clicking with common “dreamie” villagers because they seem less personal to me, yet I have 3 on my island! The first was Sherb, who I actually found early on before I knew he was popular, so he’s the least bad for me. I’m not a fan of most normals so I took Marina when I thought “hey she isn’t so bad” but then I go on Instagram and every other island has her. Because of that she unfortunately grew to be my least favorite villager currently living on my island. And Dom left me the most disappointed. Yes he is adorable, but he recently moved into Henry’s old house and he just doesn’t fill that same void. Idk man, I just prefer villagers I can really get to know myself. When I see them all over the internet, that getting to know them bit gets ruined, and they feel more like trophies than they do animal friends.
Mine would probably be Judy. I have her in my town now and I like her but compared to my other villagers I just find her so .... underwhelming. My other villagers always sing or run or exercise and she never does any of that. I don’t want to get rid of her because I spent so long looking for her but just in relation to my other villagers she’s probably the one Id let leave
This was how I felt with Dom. I thought he was absolutely cute!!! And so I bought him off someone from nookazon to finally have him on my island. Sadly, he was always inside his house, rarely see him in the plaza, doesn’t exercise or do zoomies and just don’t see him around my island that much compared to my other villagers. I’ve now reset and I still want him on my island to give another chance and see if it still works out. I think he’s really adorable and I was sad to lose him but hopefully it’ll be better this time.

To me, Canberra and Ed disappoint me. Probably because they have become my least favorites for their respective species. I was going to consider Canberra a good villager even with her angry-looking face until I watched sone videos that mentioned about her being the worst koala and also discussing her face and how one person considered her creepy.
For Ed, I was going to like him until I saw a video that made me make him the worst horse. I simply don’t like his makeup and he can be arrogant. This is the case with the smug villagers, but his face makes me never like him.
Rooney, Iggly and Carmen have somewhat disappointed me.
I like Rooney, but one of his foreign names I do not like. Also, to me, I think me makes more sense to being a jock than being cranky. I still like him, though.
Iggly I was going to like if not for someone considering him one of the worst jocks. Yes, he doesn't fit the profile, but Roald is popular and has the same personality as Iggly. But I think that he and Puck should swap personalities.
Carmen (the rabbit) is a bit similar, but she disappointed me due to an article saying that she’s one of the worst peppy villagers. This is based on her face, specifically her eyes and mouth. And to me, I think there are enough peppy rabbits (there are eight). I would like her is she was a normal personality and if I did not think her face was problematic.

Roald. I wanted him so badly because he was an adorable penguin and I loved his frozen house. I’m not a fan of Jocks but unfortunately not only is Roald a Jock, they also gave him the fitness hobby. He literally never talked about anything other than muscles and sweat and refused to wear anything that wasn’t a muscle tank. Nope - bye Roald!
