So I just made a post about finding Genji's name hard to pronounce, and some people commented about other villagers, so I thought I'd make a new post :)
I find deidre, and marina hard to pronounce. I don't know if its ma-ray-na or ma-reena :o

I'll go with Pietro for my obvious reasons.. xD
At least I spelled it right this time.

It is pronounced ma-reena
For me the hardest one to pronounce is Merengue

Phoebe.
I know it's Fee-Bee, but they always call someone else. Even when she's the only one awake
"no reply..." -.-

Shari recently.

Using the megaphone never gets her to reply, even when I know she's in the town. I say it "shah-ree" which I believe is correct but Kapp'n keeps responding -.-

I thought it was "Shar-ee".. .-.

At least you don't have Shari and Cherry in the same town like me!
Whenever I use the megaphone to find one, the other one will always answer!

Genji: gehn-jee
Deirdre: dee-"air"-druh
Marina: muh-ree-nuh
Pietro: pee-eh-troh
Merengue: muh-rang --or-- muh-rang-gay
Phoebe: fee-bee --or-- fee-uh-bee
Shari: shah-ree --or-- sher-ee

I personally have had trouble with Croque, Pancetti and Jacques.

I feel like Croque is just like croak.
And pan-chet-tea.
Maybe Jaques is like jock-keys? Hahaha

But I'm never too sure about how to pronounce Maelle... Maybe it's like "male"?

I have Shari and Jacques and have not had problems pronouncing their names except for Hippeux. Can someone help me out... I call him all sorts until he answers... I will not even attempt to these here because you will be laughing all day!

It's a French name I believe. You just pronounce it 'hippo.'

Hippeux is just like saying the animal -- "hippo" (hip-oh).

I think Croque is either "croak" or croh-kay.
Pancetti might either be pan-seh-tee or pan-cheh-tee.
Jacques is hard because it's a French name, and a pretty common one at that. It could be "jock" or "jock-ez".

Also, I have both Rudy and Ruby in my town. You can imagine how hard it is to call out to them.

Could be Hip-eh-oh.
With Croque, I agree with croak or with a slight qu sound.
Jacques name... I'd try pronouncing that one like Jah-ks

Yeah, I have trouble pronouncing Jacques name, because whenever I call him over the microphone Sterling is the one who kept on responding back. Ah well, I'm working on it.

lol, for me it's Paula and Apollo XD I've given up on using the darn thing.

In general I don't have much of a problem with pronunciation but there are a few I'm not sure about:

Cyrano
Beardo (beer-do or bear-do? Probably bear-do, because he's a bear...)
Pashmina

Btw, I think Hippeux is supposed to be "hippo." Though really, "eaux" makes the "oh" sound in French, and "eux" is the "uh" sound, so I always read it as "hippuh" XD And Croque is "croak" (sound a frog makes, and also no accent over the e)

Cyrano I'd assume just to be "sy-rah-no," the "sy" sound coming from the start of the name Simon.
Beardo "beard (as in facial hair)-oh"
Pashmina I had in my town before, and she replied to "pash-me-na"

I love pronouncing some of these names c:

I'm not sure how to pronounce Hugh, I usually say something like "youg".
And I'm not talking about the megaphone I just mean in general.
