Villagers moving back in?

My friend time travels and has offered to try to get Raymond for me through the campsite trick, however, she is first trying to get him for another one of her friends.

Apparently, in NL you had to have gone through 16 other villagers before a villager could appear a second time. (The only workaround was to use an Amiibo card, but that doesn't really work here either, so.) Does that hold true in NH as well? I might have to go back to just NMT if that's the case. It'd be a lot of work to go through 16.

nope! you can find them immediately after they move out (this happened to me when gayle moved out, i found her on a mystery island the next day)

Fyi, I got raymond through the campsite reset trick and of course sold him. I tried to campsite reset again since I'm still missing a smug.

I have campsite resetting for 30+ hrs and I have not seen raymond OR any smugs that lived on my island previously (quillson, marshal, julian, o'hare and raymond)

I havent seen anyone who has gotten a second raymond through the campsite trick so im unsure if your friend will be able to get one for you after getting it for her other friend.
