Villagers becoming original again after moving onto a new island?

I just recently adopted Monique from an incredibly kind person on the forums, I knew that I was getting an unoriginal Monique but I didn't mind, I showed up at the island and she had a doorplate and her catchphrase was 'yeet' (pretty legendary ngl)

Anyway, since moving to my island she no longer has a doorplate and her catchphrase has returned to her original 'pffffft', I have had a similar experience before where I adopted a villager with a doorplate and it disappeared once they got to my island

Is it possible that villagers return to being original when they move islands?

Yes villagers reset everything except for their clothing, I got sprinkle from a person who the sprinkle had a doorplate and the DIY furniture but everything reset when she came to my town

I can't say anything definitive, but I just adopted Aurora, and while some aspects of her reset, others didn't. She was wearing different clothing and had a different catchphrase in her old town. Now that she's in my town, she's has her default catchphrase and she started out wearing her default clothing. However, she also wears random hats that I imagine were gifted (she wears them with her default outfit, so it's not just her wearing a hat like all villagers do in their rainy day outfit, for example).

She has most of her default interior, but she has a few new additions and has changed things up a bit. You can see her default interior here. She has a few new items that are meant to be placed on tables. First time I went into her house, she had something else on the front table, and her default record player was literally on top of those huge ice pillars in the back. Last time I went into her house, she swapped out her record player and has three different small items on the front table and the two pillars in the back.

Yes, although unfortunately clothing doesn't reset because one time I got a villager with hideous clothing and it wouldn't change even when you ask Isabelle to change it so you would have to boot them I guess lol
