Villager yards

Hello! I am curious how people decorated around their villager houses. I am torn between doing yards or not making yards. I've seen some do large yards, some smaller and so on.
Pictures would be great if you have them.

I've made each of my villagers small 5x6 yards! I think it definitely helps if you want to make more of a neighbourhood-esque area, which i did with the left side of my town

Since I don’t have them setup in a “neighborhood” and I have them scattered in smaller groups of two to three around the island, their house setups vary. The ones who have yards are those in the more urbanized area of the island and they also have fences. The ones on the foresty area don’t. Those on my Little Asia also don’t as they are amongst the “environment”. This decision stems from my dislike for fences and how it looks too arranged and I get a bit claustrophobic with them around.

I plan on making a foresty kinda natural town.

I have 2 neighborhoods. Each house gets a small yard - a few bushes and flowers, but I made a common area for the grouping with a picnic spot.

I have one single large neighbourhood where everyone lives around Resident Services and has a 5x5 garden space. I'm currently in the process of moving all houses back for a little more room and swapping fences for hedges. My villagers I HD as a couple (a.k.a Alli and Del) will get a shared garden

I have a long row for houses, 5 on each side of a river, with a long path going down either side of said river. Then pathways leading off to the houses. Accompanied by some fencing, flowers, and some furniture that matches the villager / their house. I plan on putting pretty furniture on the river too. It's taking me a while >-<

ah okay. I am making three small neighborhoods but some are on a narrow piece of land so im not sure how to path and make yards for them
