I can't find this information anywhere, so I hope someone here knows.

When villagers come to my house, they say they want to see every room. They'll follow me upstairs and downstairs; they'll make themselves at home in the main room, too, of course. However, despite saying they want to see all rooms, they never follow me to the back or side rooms. I'll go into the rooms alone and if I've already shown them the upstairs and downstairs, they'll just say it's time to go when I return to the main room where they've been waiting for me. The next day I usuall get a letter from them thanking me for letting them visit, but expressing disappointment that they didn't get to see every room.

Is this normal?

Are you giving them enough space to enter the room? When you walk in you should walk towards the middle of the room to give them space to follow you. x)

Oh, yes, I give them plenty of room. Initially when I noticed this, I thought space might be an issue because the new room was very small and crammed with furniture. Now the rooms are full size and they have plenty of room--just like the upstairs and downstairs. I've had Annalise, Antonio, Phil, and Ricky all come over and none of them will follow me to a side or back room. They all go upstairs and downstairs just as they always did before I had the main floor expansions. It's just the rooms off the main room they won't visit.

I've had this too with them not entering the left and right rooms. Despite doorways to the other rooms being partially blocked and them following me perfectly fine, the left and right rooms meed to have both squares of the doorway inside the room free (in my experience, of course)

I think this might be the issue. The other rooms are partially blocked--but so is my main room and they follow just fine. I'm going to have to make do with fewer funiture pieces.

Mine like to hover in the doorway too, but I make sure to talk to them there before leaving the room. They don't say anything about not seeing the whole house -- maybe if you just make sure to say something to them?

I've moved anything that could be considered an obstruction, so I'll see if it makes any difference the next time a villager invites him or herself over. I'll pay special attention to see if my guest lingers in the doorway.

I find they leave quick if you don't talk to them (I was doing something else and suddenly they said they had to go) and if you play a musical instrument...I played the pipe organ and they suddenly said they were there long enough...good way to get the visit over quicker...especially when the same villager comes to my house over and over.
