Villager trying to move out!

Okay could someone please help me out?I've tried looking for help elsewhere but not finding anything about keeping villagers from moving. One of my favorite villagers Derwin is trying to move out but I don't want him to. He's like my bestest friend in the town!This is making me feel sad which I know is stupid. It's just all my villagers have stayed until now so why does he want to move all of a sudden?How can I make him stay?

He likely wants to move because you have high friendship with them.
If they're not in boxes, saving and quitting could help speed up them pinging you to ask about it.

Thank you so much for the help!He wasn't in boxes yet and was just talking about it. Finally got him to stay after waiting forever for him to give me the option of saying Don't go!Yeah sorry about that. I was just a little upset because he has been in this town for years but thank you!

Yeah lol you'd think they would want to stay since they're such good friends with you but nope. It really is quite strange how friendship works in these games. It's like the complete opposite of what you'd expect!
