So a friend and I each have a villager that the other one wants.. We both have 10 villagers and the ones we want to trade are moving the same day.. Will this work or not so much?

have another friend talk to your friend's villager. then you should get whatever villager you want into your town.
have that friend holding the villager kick them out. (doesnt really need to be a friend, just a trustful person. i personally would give it to a cycler if they would accept them? they tt villagers out quick, if not ask for someone.)
and then whoever is holding your friend's dream villager (or whatever) should tt them out, and you friend should come in grab them
you can do it the other way around, whoever is comfortable waiting.
