So I know that Normal is the Lazy counterpart, and Peppy is the Jock counterpart, and up till New Leaf, Snooty was the Cranky counterpart, but now that Uchi and Smug have stepped in, I feel as if the counterparts have changed. Smug and Uchi personalities just don't seem to match very well, so I am thinking that the counterparts have changed to Smug/Snooty and Uchi/Cranky. Any thoughts?
That sounds about right. The snooty's are vain and so are the smugs, while the crankies are mean at first but they care for you like an older sibling or parent, like the uchis
Eh. I disagree. I think Smugs/Uchis get along pretty well.
Though I fully admit my bias since my Smug villager is Tex and my Uchi is Flo. They are two penguins with similar designs so naturally I pair them together.
Also consider that Smugs in Japan were labeled boyish or something like that. Which was of course is the opposite of Uchi meaning Big sister.
I actually did this just a few hours ago for my own enjoyment.
I pair Smug and Snooty together, and then Uchi and Cranky, like you. I don't think it has to do with who gets along with who best, but rather who has the most 'like' personalities... Uchis can be harsh at first, but then care about you like a sibling, just like crankies. So, y'know.
