Villager Not Pinging

Yesterday, Gladys told me Lobo was thinking of moving. However, he didn't ping me. I reset, got him to face me, and nothing happened. I decided to wait and see if he would tomorrow. This time, Erik brought up Lobo moving. Again, he wouldn't ping me. Lobo is my favorite cranky and has the highest friendship with my mayor. I'd be devastated if I lost him, especially if I was unable to do anything about it. What should I do?

So other villagers weren't pinging you first? I just save and quit, or maybe that's what you mean by reset; not sure if that makes a difference, in any case.

Next time,if you have a wetsuit go to the corner of the sea and wait 5 minutes, someone will ping you when you return, and it will probably be the villager moving. (worked for me twice to stop someone from moving)
