So I had 9 villagers and had Apple move out and I moved her over to my other town. I didn't want to risk a random move in ruining something so I went and had Coco move into my town on the same day. My entire town was covered with paths except for where I want Coco to be and where Apple's house was. I figured it wouldn't take long to do the villager reset trick until Coco was in the spot I wanted. Or that maybe I would be lucky and she wouldn't move in the next day because of the fireworks festival. It took an extra day for Apple to move into my other town. But I wasn't lucky.
It's been 2 days and over 100 resets and she won't move anywhere but Apple's old spot. I went back to the day she moved out and erased some paths to see if she would move somewhere else and she did, so I didn't screw up and lock in the move in spot. So is there some kind of thing where villagers won't move to a spot if some other one is considered 'better'? Do they have an extreme preference for old house locations? I know for a fact that where I want Coco is a viable spot with no pwp's or rocks nearby. So what gives? Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just settle on the sub-par placement? Have I wasted hours of my life? Please help.
