Villager in a funk??

I'm kinda new to this game, I've watched some villagers have a spat and gone to hear their side and that cheers them up, but today Beardo got into a funk and I couldn't console him. He repeated the same things every time I talked to him. What's that about?

Maybe it has to do with how close you are with your villagers? I remember reading that if you have higher friendship with your villager (which happens when you talk to them often, do stuff for them, etc) you unlock the ability to cheer them up when they get angry or sad. How long have you had Beardo?

I've had him for awhile but i'll be honest, i dislike him so i haven't talked to him every day. So you're probly right. thank you!

my villager hasn’t been “in a funk” since when i started the game. odd. maybe the friendship level that they have with the villagers depends on how they interact.
