Villager has an ugly item in their house!

Okay so I adopted Fauna a few weeks ago and I have been working to change her layout. There is one item she won't replace, which is a storage case where she originally had the modern wood chest. I have tried to buy it from her, no luck. When she wanted a new item, I tried giving her a similar item to have her switch it out, with no luck. She doesn't touch it. Since it isn't an original item, obviously it's not locked right? Will she ask specifically to replace it sometime? It looks so awful in her house... what can I do?? Help!

When it comes to villagers keeping stuff that they really really like, your only option is to wait until they give the prompt that they want to replace the storage case.

Have you seen this happen with a seemingly locked item before? I am really hoping it's not stuck forever.

IF they give it, some items, ie Quillson's fish, they'll never replace, and never ask to be replaced.

I think they will want it replaced eventually.
