Even though I've played AC since Wild world, it was only when I started playing NL that I actually dtarted to explore the game properly. I didn't know anything about... well, anything really. I certainly didn't know about personality types, so when I got my villagers in NL, I didn't think of them as snooty or cranky or normal, I just thought of them as Ankha or Melba or... Well you catch my drift. But equally, even when I found out about personalities, I didn't realise they were gender specific, so when I got Tangy, it took about a week before I realised she was a girl! I don't think I'd like to see both genders in all the personality types, but it would be cool to see jock girls, normal boys, lazy girls etc. I know this isn't how it works, and it's always been the way it is now, but I still like the idea. Not sure what my point is, anyone else like the idea a certain personality type in a different gender?

Yeah, it's not a criticism of the game, I love it as it is, I can just imagine some cute combinations

I can picture a cranky girl being pretty cool! And also jock girls would be very interesting!
I mean I see the normal in game personality's honestly being just gender stereotypes but that is
just my opinion on it

I agree so much with this! i'd love to see jock females, normal males and lazy females. I wonder if their dialogue would be the same though as their male/female counterparts. I think if this was the case, my town would be so unbalanced though LOL. Cranky females would be awesome too. I think they tried to combat this problem by making uchi's like the equivalent of jocks, and snooty the equivalent of cranky and so on. But I would like to see villagers that are the same personality as another but different gender. Imagine peppy males? just talking about candy all the time and being a star, that'd be pretty rad to see whenever they are in conversations with peppy females. I wonder how the villager conversation dynamics would work if they introduced jock females and so on.. like would they remain the same or would peppy males have conflict with peppy females although they are the same personality? This is so interesting to think about.

I think I saw a while back on the animal crossing general discussion thread, somebody mention how in their wild world copy their Robin acted like a jock and even said jock dialogue and the Robin they had always had lived in their town. They only recently noticed that she was using jock dialogue though. It was probably an error with Robin, since they'd never seen any other villager do this before. It made me want Robin in town, since when I first saw her I thought she was a guy LOL.

I'd definitely love seeing lazy females (because me tbh). It would give the game more a little more variety and extra spice to the game. Like imagine if the jock males and jock females were to talk to each other. It'd be adorable with their competitive and energetic selves. Maybe one day Nintendo would add that since they added a lot in New Leaf.

I think that'd be cool too!! And some gender neutral villagers would be cool too.

I mean, some villagers have traits of other gender-specific personalities (like jocks are probably as upbeat as peppies but more sportsy and less valley-girl-ish, uchi villagers are into sports like jocks and into food like lazies, etc), but it would be nice to see a 100% cranky girl, or a 100% peppy boy.

i want a male peppy lol. not sure why i want it but i think it'd be cute to have a male peppy.

Haha so much love for the male peppies! That's the thing, I though Tangy was a male peppy for ages, it was adorable, I mean, she's still adorable, but I really liked having a boy that was all happy and excited like a little kid. I think that's why I love Tangy so much, I have Rosie in my second town, and while she's probably just as cute, she's more obviously feminine and Tangy isn't, so Tangy will always be my favourite. I love the idea of jock girls and cranky girls, though for me the Uchi's are kind of an inbetween for those two. And I would LOVE normal boys :)

it would be really cool to see that, and new personalities would be great too!
