Available on Steam as an early access game

I just bought Valheim last week and have already sunk about 20 hours into it. It's an Viking survival game that is currently in early access.

For the people who are have been burned by early access games before, not once did I crash or found a game breaking bug while in online multiplayer. The bugs I've encountered so far have been minor visual bugs that is easily fix by leaving the world and rejoining.

Some of these might be subject to change as developers add in more feature but I like how they got rid of some of the annoying parts of survival games.

You won't die to the lack food or weather and food doesn't expire. Food is useful though for more health and stamina.

There is quick travel but you get it pretty quickly.

Combat is enjoyable and you to make sure you manage your stamina so you have enough to dodge or parry attacks and to counter. There's is falling physics with archery so you'll have to take into the account distance and the hills.

The building is both fun and frustrating because you need to make sure that there's enough support for your building so it doesn't collapse on itself. There has been some really creative buildings.

I have nothing to say about the sailing yet. Only been on a boat once and I wasn't the one sailing it.

Pretty much all of this game is low poly but the lighting and water is fantastic that it doesn't really matter.

I'm about 25 hours in myself and also really enjoying it! I'm a fan of survival games in general and my partner is a fan of the publisher so we decided to pick it up to play together.

Spent a lot of time making a house because we wanted to be a little fancy lol I'm glad that they include enough building pieces to allow people to get creative. Fought two of the bosses thus far but so far mostly have just been building and exploring.

Bought the game recently to play with a couple of friends that love it. Only had time to put in 2-3 hours so far.

I agree that it doesn't feel like an early access game at all. The lighting, biomes, and base features are well-thought-out. The building could be improved (mechanics sometimes feel off) in addition to more pieces, but you can still make some amazing structures. The ones I've seen people make online (towers specifically) were gorgeous.

I have the most fun with exploring: combat, gathering resources, and taming animals. Currently have wolves and pigs!

We have a super tiny mountain biome on our starting continent right now and hopefully we can get some wolves from there. We only have pigs right now, mostly no stars and some one stars on another continent.

We spent like 6 hours yesterday building a portal platform and food hall. We needed so much stone and wood but I think we finally figured out the flatten mechanics with the hoe.
