Is there that big of a difference in battery? I’m trying to figure out if I should try to get a new version so I can give my console to my sister or if I should just get her a switch lite.
Its not a massive improvement, but if you use it handheld a lot the newer model is a worthwhile purchase but not a necessary one. I have the older model but I'm sticking with it since I strictly use mine docked.
Edit: the difference (depending on game) is like only two hours on both low and high end.
If you play handheld it makes a hell of a difference, in my opinion. I play primarily handheld and with V1 it was only 2 hours while with V2 it's 4, give or take?
I say that if you play handheld, it's worth it. The only good thing about the switch lasting 2 hours is that it made me more productive LOL
I've had both. V1 from April 2017 to November 2019 and I've had the V2 since then. Only difference worth noting is longer battery life. If you play like 95% in handheld mode like I do, then it'll make a huge difference. Otherwise I often forget that it's not my launch Switch.
In conclusion, if you play handheld a lot it's worth it, if you usually play docked then it's definitely not.
