I would definitely contact Nintendo about your 3DS. It's obviously broken and needs fixing.

Sorry about your loss though OP :C Definitely don't give up because you might be able to find an even better one!! Just take a break for a while and relax. xD

i feel for you. on my previous map it took weeks of long, painful resetting, but on my new town i was utterly amazed and got it on the first try. :3 you never know whats going to happen!
