I'm sure many of you know that some sunsets are yellow and reddish compared to the usual orange bluish sunsets, and that sometimes at 6 AM the sky is pink. PINK, kind of like on the dawn shirt (clothing item)
So, what's the deal with it? Are there any other unusual sky colors? I've looked for topics discussing this but have found none, so I figured I would make one.

It's probably related to the weather, like in real life. :) I haven't noticed a lot of them since I rarely play at those hours, I either play when it's already day or during the night. :(

The pink/orange sky happens in real life. It's just as rare in real life as it is in animal crossing. I noticed that often animal crossing mimics my real life weather. For example if it was raining at my location yesterday. I played June 9th with wifi on and it was raining in AC:NL too. I wonder if AC:NL is connected to our real life weather. There are times I cannot not explain the coincidence in the weather changes. Like a week ago the weather changed at my place from cloudy to raining between 2-3PM. Sure enough in AC:NL it started raining as soon as the bell struck 3PM.

Weather in AC:NL is not connected to your IRL location's weather. You just have some interesting coincidences lol.

I think the ACNL weather is random but maybe being in certain climates means you have a bigger chance of getting the same weather in real life and in the game. I've wondered about this too, since I've had this happen to me a lot. There have been even more times when the weather has been close enough (like cloudy in the game and raining in real life, or vice-versa). It's rarely happened to me to have very different weather in the game and in real life. Coincidence or not, it's pretty neat.

I've been TT numerous times, so I'm able to observe the weather and sky color in ACNL. Based on my observation, those kind of things in ACNL are already set in stone by the game mechanic.
For example, deep red sunset happens every October 28th 2013. There are other dates when the sky is red, but i haven't figured it out. However different year is also influencing this, so at October 28th 2014, the sunset could be no longer red anymore.
Another example is that every June 20th 2013, it will be raining very hard with lightning in town at night at certain hours.
Or your town will have double rainbows every July 12th 2013 at around 2 pm.

If only you could remember the exact date when the pink sunset is happening, did you take a picture of it? maybe there's a time stamp on the pic 8D
The knowledge about weather is kinda handy imo if we want to make very specific dream town with specific weather/sky color ;)

Oh i love when the sky has amazing colours (both in game and in real life haha) I had Cumulonimbus clouds in game for the first time today, I was pretty excited haha
