Unexpected Favourites?

Do you have any villagers that became unexpected favourites?

I got Hopper awhile back and while I was pretty sure I would like him, I was surprised at how fast I grew to LOVE him. I think he's my all time favourite villager now, and I really don't understand how he's not popular :') He's so cute!
Same with Friga! She's my newest addition and I'm already obsessed with her!

Coco was my second random move-in, since I didn't island hop when the first three move-ins happened. But I already kind of liked her before, but I didn't expect her to become my favourite out of everyone in my island. I'm very glad I randomly had her move in, since I definitely do plan to have her go anywhere.

In my town Dom is. He moved in randomly and I wasn’t really a fan. But the more I saw different faces he makes, the more I liked him. Plus he doesn’t get decked in full workout gear like some jocks and Audie do.

Spork was in my second wave of move-ins, and I was really skeptical about adding him to the island while mystery island hopping. But I was desperate to fill the plots since I wanted the game to progress, so I invited him. He's now one of my favourite villagers. Granted, I'm still thinking about letting him move out at some point (since there's a couple more dreamies I want to move in via Amiibo and I don't need two lazy villagers), but it's going to be hard. I don't understand why he's hated on so hard, he's such a cute little pig!

I never thought Beardo would grow on me when I was forced to move him in from the campsite but after a few weeks of having him around I decided he’s awesome. I let him move out when he asked and regretted it so much I bought an amiibo for him lol now he’s back living in the lap of luxury like he belongs.
I also thought Judy was really stupid looking when I first saw her but she’s on my island now and I just love her.

Peanut! I had her for a short while in NL, so when I saw her on a mystery island, I figured why not. She grew on me a lot, and I just love her! She's asked a couple times to move, but I don't think I'll ever let her go.

Both Gruff and Camofrog. My SO invited Gruff from the campsite, and Camofrog was a random move-in in early game. I like dressing Gruff in goofy things like the flashy jacket, and Camofrog is adorable in his khaki explorer's shirt. Their houses have so much personality.
Guess I'm just a sucker for crankies.

I would say nan. I liked her in new leaf, but now I LOVE her in new horizons. She looks about the same I would say but I don’t know something in this game really made me like her.

I’m really not a huge fan of horse characters, but in NH I took on Cleo and Julian. I really adore them both. Cleo calls me sugar and it’s so cute. Julian’s also apparently been an anime fan since he was young- also fricken adorable.

Rudy! He and Fuschia were the two villagers that I started my island with. I did not like the jock villager that I had back in NL (Hamlet), so I assumed I wouldn’t like Rudy; I was also kinda iffy on his design. But the more I talked with him, in spite of the muscle talk that I don’t care about, the more he grew on me; even on day one, I couldn’t help but think his voice sounded so cute.

Apollo and Julian! Apollo was a forced villager and I took Julian from a mystery island because I didn't want a random villager taking my plot. I didn't think I would keep them, but now I want to! They both are so sweet and give the best gifts. They also have really nice houses.

Zucker! I had him in New Leaf but didn't care for him much so I kicked him from my town. I found him again on my first mystery island trip and invited him to my island. Now I absolutely love him! He's my favorite villager and I'm never going to let him leave lol. Also, Lobo! I didn't think I would like him at first but I can't get enough him lol.

I saw Bones on an island and I was looking for Biskit (also a lazy dog), but I gave Bones a try and I think he is so cute

Teddy! I didn't have much of an opinion towards jocks prior to NH but I absolutely love him now. Ran into him on a mystery island and decided to take him in on a whim. Needless to say he's a permanent resident on my island now.

Sheldon. I just needed a jock for my all squirrel island and he's the only one so... yeah. His catchphrase and interior are soooo good I grew to like him more than I thought I would because of that. I also brought his amiibo card so I could have him again when I resetted my island.

Canberra kinda counts too. Saw a (pretty sad) comic of her and honestly fell in love with her at that moment. Though I didn't realize it until I went to an island giving away free stuff and for some reason, they had her poster up for grabs and I grabbed that thing so fast I kinda surprised myself lol. Unfortunately, she's not on my island yet but maybe when I move out Audie or someone else? I need a person with a tropical interior and Audie isn't really doing it for me.
