Just need some opinions on if I should reset or not..I have tons of money most of the furniture and downloadable stuff and all of the shops.I haven't played for awhile and that's why its coming up if I should I not. I don't think I would miss anything and I would try to find someone to hold a few bags of money for me to get started.

The best reason to restart is if you have a layout you hate. You can landscape all you want, but you can't change your map. The same goes for poorly placed permanent PWPs. If you're undecided because you're bored, I'd think a while longer. Will you regret losing your villagers? Will filling up your encyclopedias and catalog from scratch be enjoyable? You can get someone to hold your Bells and items you want to keep, but it's a drag doing that. It takes a long time to drop off everything and then collect it again. (It's worth it, but it's a pain. LOL)

Maybe you should make a list of pros and cons.

i would reset if I am bored. If you want someone to hold your items while you reset, find an active player or a cycler (●?ω`●).

If you find your town boring, it's best to restart. It can provide a fresh start for you. :)

Thank you for the help! still not sure whether Im going to reset or not but I am going to help people catalog things they don't have since I have an almost full catalog myself!

I was unsure about restarting my first town, so I got a second. I just started a third town yesterday. I know buying extra copies isn't an option for everyone though. However, if you feel like you're really bored or unhappy with your town and don't just want to take a break, then reset! There are loads of people here who will help you fill up your catalog again as well as people who will hold bells for you.

That's very kind of you. I restarted my second town (with 2 characters) one month ago. I'd love to catalog unorderable items/sets. I'm not interested in owning them, but I want to expand my catalog and earn a badge. I'm definitely willing to pay some TBT for any help.

I'll hold bells if you'd like :) I wanna reset too so maybe you could hold things for me after?

I think you should go for it! I reset a few months ago and I forgot to save my bells and items, which was a little nerve wracking, but it ended up being nice to get a fresh town.

I can hold anything both of you guys need. I just restarted today, so my plaza/ storage is empty.

I think you should reset only if you are unhappy with your town layout and or villagers. If you do wanna reset ask people to hold your stuff while you do so. And try to reset maps until you find one that you think is perfect for you. I once thought I should reset my town but I played on my town some more and realized I didn't wanna reset and I was happy with my town. My villagers always cheer me up too. You should try to do the same, if you enjoy it after that than I recommend not to reset, if you still don't really enjoy it or have fun, then reset. It's your choice after all. You might have lots of stuff you caught that is rare like a coelacanth or stuff like that. If you don't want to lose that, than either time travel in your new town until you catch it, or not reset at all and try to play more with your town. You also might not want to lose all your cataloged items. So that's another thing to think about. Good luck with your town. Hope you find people that will hold your stuff. Sorry If this is waaaaaaaaaay too long. xD

I think you're supposed to post resetting-related stuff in the sticky. But anyway, my opinion is that if it's the map or permanent PWP placement that's bothering you, reset. If it's anything else, like villagers or anything non-permenent, definitely think extra hard about it before you reset.

I'd happily hold items as a chance to get some things in my catalog I don't have.

I have done this for someone before (see my wi-fi comments), and I may be up to 3 days gap between online visits, so don't panic if I get busy and skip a day!

If you are resetting now I could just stay up and do the slog with you now. :)

you can always ask a friend or a user here to hold your items if items is what you're worrying about. if you have someone willing to help, then by all means, reset. if its the villagers, i wouldnt if i were you.

I had the same dilemma a couple months ago, but I went for it and it was the best decision I ever made with acnl. Now I have a town I love with a name and mayor's name I'm happy with (my own name this time instead of some random thing like my first town lol). So take your time with it. You won't regret it.

Yeah you can restart, I mean most of your items you can probably see again and buy back throughout the game, but not sure if the downloadable items can be brought back that fast or at all (time, limited edition and month?). Since you said you wouldn't miss anything, you can go for it, change the map, put public work projects in different places, meet different villagers, fall in love with animal crossing again. Can probably have someone hold your top best items, and time travelling is also an option too, good luck!
