Unable to interact with villagers - being ignored

Hello,

I'm having an issue with Animal Crossing since last night. I can't interact with my 10 villagers. When I approach them they acknowledge I'm there, but then turn around and walk away. The only NPC's I was able to have a conversation with today were the shops. services and Flick, didn't try the airport. My game seems to be bugged, is anyone else experiencing this issue or had a similar type of issue in the past? I really need a fix . Spent 6 months playing this game on a daily basis, really don't want to be starting over from the beginning. Any help would be much appreciated.

Nevermind closing the game software and restarting the game a couple of times did the trick. I usually only ever save the game progress and power off.
