why am I unable to close my thread in the ACNL section?

Some boards don't allow users to close their own threads. Just report it and request a thread lock if you really want it closed

ok thanks. I didnt know this. the only boards I can lock my thread on are the retail and wifi boards.

You're only able to close your threads in certain sections of the forum, sadly.
