Okay, so I bought 1,000,000 bells worth of turnips to sell, but I was unable to sell any of them due to me having to go before I could get into any of the 500+ towns.

Due to me TTing back to the middle of the day last night while I bought turnips to sell to some of the Re-Tails that were buying with high prices, it's now 4 AM, and I can't do anything.

If I TT a few hours ahead so some of my villagers are awake and I can do stuff, will the turnips die? I've TTed a whole day forward before with just 10 turnips and they were fine, but I'm not very good at making money, and 1,000,000 bells was literally all the money I had. So I don't wanna take any chances.

Is there any way I can prevent my turnips from dying while I TT, or will I just have to sell them and then TT?

Nope. If you time travel forward, they'll die.
So did they patch this or something? Because it's always been that if you time travel forward nothing happens. But then, I time traveled forward a few times (I didn't play a couple of days and I wanted my bopper and I needed to check with Isabelle for my perfect town) and all my turnips were spoiled. I had 18,000. It's honestly not so bad because I've made so much money from turnips, but I was disappointed still.

It doesn't even make any sense though. The game has no possible way of telling that you changed the 3DS clock forward.

That's true. And, from my experience, I TTed forward a day and nothing happened. I TTed forward a week, and my turnips all spoiled; but they're programmed to die on Sunday anyways.

I'd test it, but 1,000,000 is all my bells, so I'd rather not. XD If anybody else is willing to TT for this, I'd be really interested!

Well, of course if you TT a whole week to Sunday they will be spoiled. But I am positive I time traveled forward and not backwards yet they spoiled. I hadn't played for two days. So I load up my game past noon and get my emotion from Shrunk and water flowers and check the stores and fossils and what not. I then bought my turnips. I go sometime past 7 to get the bopper. Then I TT past midnight so I could check in with Isabelle (The fireworks had to be over because the Town Hall was closed). Then I TT'd to Monday and did the same. And then set the clock back to present time. Another odd thing that happened was that i lost a bunch of flowers including quite a few hybrids even though I watered them. Yet I'm positive I didn't go backwards because I would have noticed the way I was doing it.

I guess maybe I did screw up though. There is no way turnips can spoil going forward. How in the world could New Leaf tell the difference between you changing the 3DS clock forward say an hour and you simply closing the game and playing it again an hour later?

Hm. I dunno about your flowers, but as for the turnips spoiling, they're supposed to spoil after 7 days, regardless of whether or not you TT.

I know, I only time traveled from Sunday to Tuesday (at that time the present day). Like I said, the way I did it, all I was doing was saving and changing the clock forward. Nothing should have happened. It would have been just has if I was actually playing on those days
