Bells

So the way I make bells is go to the island and get rare bugs and fish (sharks mostly) but that technique is kind of...well boring. Then there's the drop bells in the bank and Tt a couple months for bells - I have dreamies so I can't risk that! Plus it hardly works when I do try. My other technique is selling here and the worst (but unfortunately the best way for me) is duplicating - duplicating is like cheating to me and it's not right! I feel uncomfortable doing it - once again it's just not right.

So then I thought why not turn over a new leaf and do the turnip technique? After all it's worth a try right? The positives: I will make a profit, everyday there are people here with amazingly high prices plus another badge done and dusted! But.... There is a problem - how do you do it??? I don't want that water-hog to cheat me out of the stalk market business! So for those stalk market pros out there - please help me by: sharing techniques, what and when do you do it? What's the appropriate price I should sell them for? How much I should buy etc just give me a tip! Not only will you help me but other dummies like me can look on this and get a technique for turnips - win win! So comment comment comment or if there is a page like this explaining everything just put a link in your comment or if someone already did this also tell me ;) even if there is a page explaining everything, let's work together and put more tips here then that page and surprise the person who made it! Now who's with me? (If yes comment!) :):):):):):);););););)

Here's how I do it:

Sunday-Buy turnips from Joan not over 100 (if her price over 100 that turnip wasn't worth)

Storage- Best is a storage full, I move everything out and fill up all with turnips~ FULL! MAX PROFIT!

Selling-Hunt down anyone town with high turnip price (recommend: Sapphpie, she's the best) or sometimes at train station. No fret, I always saw people post with high price)

No time travelling!-Kill all your profit instantly. Poof!

Bell-Only have 1mil? Don't worry, use only 500k to buy turnips and with method above, at least 2mil will be earn~

Hope this can help xD

Aaayyy hello again rosielover! XD
You should buy turnips when Joan sells them for 100 bells or less (Maybe up to 105 bells as a last resort).
Then you can check your Re-Tail everyday to see how much Reese will take for turnips. Here is a guide to Turnip Price Patterns: http://www.thonky.com/animal-crossing-new-leaf/stalk-market/
If you have a second town, you can use that one to check turnip prices...
Or you can check TBT for Turnip prices. Definitely sell them if they go for 500 bells or more to make a big profit

But never TT with a locker full of turnips...
They'll rot away and eat your soul
Oh yeah, and turnips will spoil on the next Sunday, so be sure to sell them before that happens!

Turnips only rot when you time travel backwards, they're fine if you're going forwards unless you go pass Sunday.

I can't confirm this as there is so many rumors about it (and lazy to try it yet too xD)
Some said as long as touch the clock, travel back or forward kills it! Some said only travel backwards o.o I have no idea I just know time travelling kills lol

I don't understand why everyone says don't buy turnips if they are over 100 bells? Umm it doesn't really matter...even if you were buying for 200 bells it would still be worth it because the amount of bells you're making by selling them for 500+ is pretty insane. You really can't afford to be picky when joan shows up if you want to make profit. I mean really so what if it is over 100? You'll lose like what, maybe a couple hundred thousand profit? When you're already making like 5-10 mil profit? No point in being too greedy about it you just gotta accept whatever price joan is offering on any given sunday.

That's just my opinion though and obviously i'm in the minority in that regard but ehh that's the way it goes sometimes. Turnips are certainly the best way to go and is the easiest/less tedious way of making it rain bells.

It's confirmed that you CAN time travel forwards with turnips and they will not rot until you reach the next sunday. If you TT backwards at all though they will rot.

Ooh, that would mean you can TT back but not until Sunday, correct?
But do turnips spoil in a 7 day period or up till the next Sunday regardless of how many days you TT back?

I just started turnip buying this month actually. I was so noob, I went to someones town for the first time to buy turnips, took me almost an hour and I wasted their time, they were so sweet about it though!
then I went to a town to sell turnips and I made 5 mil profit <3

7 day period. If you TT backwards at all then they will automatically rot which is why everyone says the next sunday.

I've also made profits by hosting turnip sellers. A lot of people are really generous with tips so it's worth it c: I've gotten around 25-30mil just by tips -- definitely way more than I would've made if I sold my own turnips at someone else's town.

If you get a turnip price that's upwards of 300, you should definitely consider hosting.

I only spend like 100k every sunday on tunips because i'm afraid they're all gonna rot because I basically have no time between school and sports. So if they do rot only 100k goes to waste~

I have TTed with my turnips before, and they never spoiled. But, NEVER TT backwards. I spent like 5M on turnips, and they were all gone. :'(

Liquefy's FAQ has a section on the stalk market too, and it has everything you could possibly want to know (and then some). According to the FAQ, Joan's prices are never lower than 90 or higher than 110. I buy them whatever she's selling at. Anytime I see prices upwards of 200 in my own town, I sell. If, however, I miss the peak price in my town, I check TBT's train station and find someone who's hosting. Usually I make a lot more that way than in my own town. I always leave a tip for 10% of my profits (not the whole sale, just the money I get to pocket).
