Hello, I am really wanting to TT in order to get the villagers I want in my town. It?s a really long process if you don?t TT, lol. I have a couple concerns.
Let?s say that I have a villager that is moving in a week and I tt forward to that day. When tting back to the current calendar day, does that actually count as traveling over another week of days and is it possible that another villager would move out during this time, or does tting backwards any number of days just count as a single day?
How can I check for certain who is planning on moving when I TT? Is the mover always going to be outside and will they alwaus ping you first as long as you are on speaking terms? What is they are asleep? do i need to tt during a time when all of my villagers are awake? Would I be safe if I just talked to every villager only once each ?day?? Is a mover likely to be wandering around the museum/main street etc. before they ping you to move? Would i have to hunt down each villager every ?day??
Should I TT forward 1 day each time, or should I go forward 1 day then back, and so forth to where I?m only travelling within the span of two calandar days? Would that work?

I?m sorry I have a lot of questions. I have been pretty paranoid about tting because I?m terrified at the idea of one of my villagers that I want to keep moving away, but I also would just like to finally have all of the villagers I want because I?m inpatient.

Is there a good trustworthy guide to doing this anywhere? I was not able to find one that i trusted. Thank you guys for all of your help, again!

Time traveling backwards or forwards both count as a new day. So if your villager was leaving today and you time traveled to yesterday, they'd be gone when you booted your town up. Now I don't know if traveling a number of days forwards and backwards counts as more than a day in regards to new villagers moving in; I've never tried it. I am inclined to believe that it does count as multiple days, though.

As for your other questions, I don't think I can help. I've never been quite certain how the mechanics of it all work. I hope someone can help, though.

Actually this thing wouldn't need guide. It's so simple in regards to just preventing unexpected moveouts.

  • It counts as 1 day when you TT backward regardless how far you go back.
  • It counts as 1 day when you TT forward a day.
  • The next day someone moved out, no one is planning to move out.
  • The villager you got by scanning cards yourself most likely to not plan to move out. (Even if they does, you can just scan him in again so it's not a issue I assume.)
  • When your town is at more than 9 villagers, someone for sure plans to move out every each 10 days. That means, you have at least 9 days after someone moves out, to find out who's planning that.
  • Usually after 5 days or so, someone will ping you when you're running near him outside. So you just need to roam around till someone does.
  • Or, other villager will tell you the rumor about who's planning to move, but this method is not assured to happen quickly for sure. So I'd rather go for running around outside.

In short, it's not exactly necessary to talk to all of them every day. You'd need to make sure there's no one who you haven't been talking long though so that they'll ping you when planning to move out.
By this way moveouts have been under my control 100% for years.
If any of my words above are vague/unclear/don't make sense, feel free to ask again! So I'll try find better words.

This was very helpful! Thank you! Just for clarification, no one will want to move the day after someone moved, right?

Right.

And from experience, for another 5 days, no one likely to not. (Sometimes there's someone, but you can find it out sometime between day 6 to day 9 either way.) So you can relax for those 5 days after someone moving out.
