Hello everyone! So I read that our bingo cards will expire if we time travel. Does that apply even if I just want to go back an hour? I've been looking forward to the aurora, and I just missed it :(

Thanks in advance~

TTing does not affect bingo cards -- I'm cycling someone out of my 2nd town and while I've only had a chance to make one Snowdad he and the bingo card were fine for the 4 in-game days he lasted.

editing to add: I'm only going forwards -- obviously TTing backwards is a problem!

I guess that doesn't really matter, but not sure. I TTed one day back as well and had the same problems than ^

How far backwards?

Just 1 day, passing the 6 AM mark, will have dramatic effects for snowpeople and the bingo card.

Going back only 1 hour I'm not sure of, but I see no reason why that should have any negative effects unless you pass the 6 AM mark. If you last logged out at 2PM, it's 7PM now and you want to change the clock to 6PM, that can be done without problems. Only once you go past 2PM (the time you logged out) the game will notice a time shift.

So it's only going backwards then I guess? I'm jumping a day forward at a time trying to get this dratted villager to move. It's having no effect whatsoever on bingo. I guess when I get too far and have to jump back I'll lose everything though -- good to know.

That would make sense because the bingo card I got today will still exists tomorrow, but it didn't exist yesterday.

From what people are saying any backwards jump is erasing everything though -- not just the things you built the previous day. But mizukitty lost 4 days of snowmen with a 1-day jump. So it's more like turnips...

For what it's worth, I TT'ed back to before 5pm to avoid dung beetles (couldn't play until evening), failed at making a snowman, reset, TT'ed back again, and I still have my bingo card and snowpeople. So I have not "officially" had overlapping play times, so the game doesn't know that a time paradox has occurred (I guess). But I thought this could still be useful information for someone, maybe.

yep it reminded me of turnips too.. i was actually TTing backwards a day because it was my snowmam's fourth day and i wanted to see if i could prevent her from disappearing to complete the ice set without starting from wall and floor again x.x (maybe i shouldve just went back a few hours instead...) so she was the first one i built and was on day 4 while the boy, man, and tyke were on days 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

i assumed that, worst case scenario, she alone would have melted since the game treats TTing backwards any amount of days as 1 day.. but they were all gone and the card was expired >.<

I TTed forward and my bingo card was fine.

I TTed one day back, and all my snow people were gone and my card was expired.

Totally off topic but I love this signature. :)

Thanks, everyone. I ended up not trying since I don't want my bingo card to expire. I'll just have to wait until the next aurora.

So going backwards the snowpuppets will disappear.

But what if the game doesn't notice a shift in time? If I logout and travel back 2 hours, leave my DS off for 2 hours and 15 minutes and than log back in, wouldn't the game just think I've been away for 15 minutes? I want to do this for New Years day so that I can enjoy the in-game countdown after I celebrated the real countdown with my friends.

After logging off at 3 am I'll put the clock to the right time again and won't login until morning. It should work fine as log as I don't pass 6AM, but I'm not sure about the snowpuppet's survivability.
