Trying to grow grass..

Do you NEED flowers for grass to grow in your town? I prefer not having flowers or maybe having a little area in the future with flowers in it, but none right now. I'm an older guy who prefers cement and trees, so I hope that's not a problem.

Rain and snow really help your grass to grow back in New Leaf. Grass deteroration was a huge problem in city folk and it's easier to grow back your grass in new leaf thankfully. If you like trees, by all means, plant more! They help a lot. I'd say to stick to a certain path on the ground like maybe put down a design and follow it whenever possible. Just try not to walk on it and it should grow back pretty quick especially if there's a lot of rainy/snowy days.

Trees do help a lot. I hear that grass also grows back 2x faster if you have a healthy flower on top of it, but you mentioned you don't really want flowers. Try not to walk on patches where you want your grass to grow back: I've found that if you leave it alone for a few days, it'll grow back pretty quickly.
