So I?ve been trying to get my villagers to suggest new pwps but they aren?t. I?ve been hiding on the beach and waiting 5 minutes for like the last 2 hours but I?ve only gotten like 4 ?pings? and no pwp suggestion.. does anyone know a better method? Thanks much!

Having more friendship with the villagers helps.
Be sure you have the right types too, some PWPs require specific types.

Thanks for your reply! :)
Hmm.. my friendship is good with all of them. I have cranky, jock, peppy, lazy, normal, snooty, and uchi I believe

I don't necessarily know of a better way, but rather than go to the beach, I would go to Main Street or diving or just do my daily chores, making sure to avoid the villagers for 5 minutes at a time. That way I would still get pings but I felt like I was accomplishing things in the meantime instead of just wasting my time.

Also, you may already know this, but since you didn't state it, make sure your inventory is full of items like shells or flowers so the villagers won't ping you to buy something or give you something. They can still ping you about nicknames, greetings, and other things, but if you limit their options as much as possible it improves your chances of getting a pwp request.

I found that my pwp requests came in waves. I'd go a week or so getting a new request almost every day, then hit a drought of no requests for a couple of weeks. It seemed to help if I was building new pwps regularly. I got a lot of pings for new pwps immediately after the ceremony for a pwp I had just built. Once I noticed this, I started using it to my advantage, making sure the right villagers were outside to possibly attend the ceremony and that my pockets were full of items they wouldn't buy, etc.

Wow that was detailed thanks! And I didn’t know about the full inventory thing.. I thought I was supposed to have an empty inventory for some reason haha. Cool I will try out some new stuff then! Thanks so much! :)

You're welcome.

Yeah, if your inventory is empty, the villagers can ping you to try to sell you something or to have you deliver something to another villager. If it's full, but you have furniture, clothing, bugs or fish on you, they can ping you to buy those items. So make sure it's full with only flowers and/or shells and you decrease the reasons they might ping you.

Awesome you helped a lot! Got a new pwp suggestion today :) thank you :)

I always wait 20-25 minutes away from villager (in the corner of my town or on the beach). Also don't carry anything in your pockets as villagers will ping to trade items or buy items from you! Hope this helped :)

Thanks for the advice! I’m testing out different things based on what everyone has been saying. It seems like there are many different approaches that work! I haven’t figured out the most efficient way yet though. Thanks! :)

If you play for a certain amount of time villagers will stop pinging. Then you'll have to go up and talk to one of them, they'll say some like "wow you look tired, you should take a break", and the you can continue doing the trick. And I'ver read somewhere before that if you are just standing still on the beach, the game won't register the amount that passes by, but it will if your are diving (even if you are not moving).

Also if you have three bridges, villagers won't suggest a new one .

Hope this helps:)

Yeah haha I found that out the hard way yesterday whoops! That’s interesting about the standing on the beach thing.. I’ll have to get a wetsuit now haha. Thanks! It was very helpful :)
