Trying to get Maelle to move out.

I know that this has probably been asked so, so many times. But I want to go ahead and share my issue. Maelle, the snooty duck villager, has been in my town for a few months now. Most of those months, I have been ignoring her, in the hopes that she'd simply move away from lack of being interacted with. However, that did not happen. So, realising that my method of ignoring her completely wasn't working, I talked to her yesterday over and over, until she got fed up, saying that she needed to 'think' as the animals do, when you've talked to them too much. So far, nothing. Nobody has talked about anyone moving out. Now, Maelle was the second to last villager to move in, after her, I have had Groucho, and just today, I had O'Hare in my campsite, and persuaded him to move in. So I was wondering if where she was in the roster of moving in would affect anything? All in all, I'd just really like some tips on how to get her to move out, I don't really want to do any time travelling, since I've never done it before, and I'm kinda afraid of messing things up. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

A method I found works is that you have to become friends with the villager. Do favours for them, go to their house, let them go to yours, etc, anything that'll boost your friendship with them. The better friendship you have with them, the more likely they'll ask to move out.

every 3 days or so (it really doesn't matter) talk to them until they ping you to move out.
i usually time travel

Quicker method is creating a second character and talking to everyone but Maelle. In one week she will be packin'

If I were you, I would just cycle to get unwanted villagers out. I've never had to make friends with a villager to get them to ping, neither have I ever had to completely ignore them. It's entirely random, they all move eventually, expect for the newest villager.
Have a look at some cycling methods, or just do your own of either 2 days forward and back or 4 days forward and back, just keep checking every villager who is outside and if it's gone more than 5 days without somebody wanting to move just tt day by day to be safe

I always talk to them to get them to move out. Works better for me. If you haven't talked to them in a while they don't ping when they're ready.

Some people say talking too much or too little helps but in my experience, it's random.

You should talk to her at least sometimes so you don't get the dialogue where she greets you like you've been away. Is she your 10th villager? Your 10th villager rarely pings to move.

If you want to do it faster, there are different TT methods that help you go through more pings faster. I can post the one I use if you're interested but there are lots of posts explaining different ones here on the forum.
