Ok so I'm getting ready to create my second character and I'm putting patterns down in the area I want their house to be so I can make sure I measure everything properly.
I know that houses have a one space zone around them, but I was wondering if you could put patterns down in this one space zone? Also, you can plant trees right next to houses as long as there is a space between the tree and house correct?
Heyo! You can definitely put patterns down in the one-space zone around houses (with the exception of the spot right in front of the door). My main character's house has a path running down one side of her house.
In terms of trees/bushes, you can plant one space away, with the exception of the front of your house. Out front, you need to leave two spaces. To be safe, and to test if you're unsure, you could plant some "disposable" fruit trees or bamboo to see if things will grow in the spots you're contemplating.
This first is a shot of my main character's house, with a path down the side (and some scattered tiles out front) and bushes planted one space away.
This one shows a bush planted two spaces away from the front of another house (next to the bush there's also a tree, which isn't showing up due to the angle), plus a path down the side and trees and bushes planted one space away.
