Hi!

So I've been dying to improve my island and one of the main things that has been in the way of my progress is all the trees I have! I am overrun with trees (mostly leftover from money trees) and I have no idea what to do.

I believe I've read that one should keep at least 22 hardwood trees in order to get the daily furniture/bell/wasp drops. With this in mind, I'm looking for help with the following questions:

  • Is 22 really the "perfect" number?
  • I need all the space I can get. How would you recommend organizing the trees I keep?
  • I would love to make an orchard with my fruit trees! How many of each would you suggest I keep?
  • Do you keep money trees hanging around for decor or just farm 'em and cut 'em down?
Any flower organizing tips would be welcome as well! I have too many of those too ;;;

I know these may seem like silly questions, but I'm just worried that if I "wing it" I'll end up getting rid of too many trees or too many hybrids that are hard to come by.

Thank you all in advance for your help!

Please move if in the wrong forum section, thank you!

If you want the absolute minimum of regular trees, you can just to 7, 5 for wasps and 2 for furniture. The bells won't take over those two.
If you want them to take as small space as possible, just plant them as close as possible, 1 space between each tree. You can stagger the rows/columns if you'd like.
For an orchard, I think 5 of each fruit tree is good, since you'll get 15 of each fruit.
I've stopped doing money trees, because I don't have room to grow them, but I recommend you cut them down, since you'll end up with a bunch of hardwood trees otherwise.

Pretty much this- though I do six of each fruit tree (two rows of three, it looks better on my island). I also have way more than 7 trees... I think I have over 22, but I like having them for decor. Never heard about 22 being the "perfect" number. I'd argue the "perfect" number is however many you want 😛

Also, early on, I found money trees SUPER helpful to get more trees without spending bells on the saplings. But nowadays I chop 'em down since my villagers apparently don't like when I have TOO many 😂
