transferring game type question !

hi! i currently play acnl on my 3ds, but recently ordered the new xl! If I want to play acnl on THAT device, will it save my town and continue as normal or do I have to start over?? I REALLY hope this isn't the case hahah. Any answers or advice would be appreciated, thank you!!!

I know if it's a physical copy, you can play it on any DS like normal and it won't erase your town or anything. I'm not sure though about digital copies (as I've never had one). Hope someone is able to help! :l

Is it a physical or digital copy? A physical copy will play just fine in any 3DS (my friend and I swapped 3DS's to play ACNL once for whatever silly reason and everything was fine. I mean I put my game in her 3DS and vice versa to play). ^.^ If you have a digital copy you will have to do a system transfer but after that your game should work normally with save files in tact. ^.^

I did this myself last week...and both the digital (after you do the system transfer) and the original copy will work!
