Today, I met up with someone whom I was giving Ankha to. She came to my island via amiibo and was forced out via Kabuki's amiibo. I forced Ankha out shortly after 7am and went to her house to double-check that she was in boxes. She was. I then opened my gate for her to be picked up. But when the person picking her up went to her house, it said she was still sleeping and her curtains were drawn! I however, saw that her curtains were open and was able to enter her house. I time-traveled to the afternoon and we are going to see if she will no longer be 'sleeping'. Hopefully it works.

Anyone experienced this and know a good work-around besides time travel?

I'm pretty sure that there's no work-around since at 7am Ankha/pretty much every villager besides maybe jocks will be asleep. You will just have to trade later. Until 9/10 every villager will be up :)

Huh. That's good to know. I assumed that since she's awake for me, she must be awake for my visitors as well.

This happened for me with a DIY. Coco was awake for me but the clock hit 11 or whenever they go to bed before my friend flew in and was still crafting for me (I was able to enter/exit the house and talk to her where she was still crafting), but my friend just saw a dark house with a "im sleeping" sign
