Toy Day question

Hi,
I know toy day was last month but due to work and holiday craziness I am a month behind in my game(right now I'm on Dec. 5th). I have gotten most of my villagers to talk to me about toy day. They mostly tell me they want an item of a certain color or an umbrella.
One villager told me a color and than later said she hopes she gets furniture. I therefore take that to mean she wants furniture of that color. So does this mean they will give me multiple clues about what they want and I have to figure it out or will they eventually tell me exactly what they want?

Each villager will give you a colour and an item type if you talk to them enough.
Then, on toy day, you get a bag with presents and it is up to you to match the items with the wishes of your villagers.
Most of this is pretty easy. They could for example ask for orange clothing, and you would give them the orange jacket item.

If you're not sure what a certain item is, just google it

I don't know how much time you have, but they will all give you two clues. You have to talk to them every chance you get. Keep chats going. They get more excited right before toy day. Some items in Jingle's bag can be similar so narrow down your choices. Keep notes. Give away items you are sure of first then work your way to the more iffy ones. It really isn't hard.

I gave the wrong present to Wendy and quit my game without saving and then tried again. I had been talking to them multiple times, but for Wendy I only knew she wanted a pink doll and Julian simply wanted a doll. When I got the presents from Jingle, one was a fancy doll and the other was a wobbelina. Having no idea what either one looked like, I ended up giving the wrong present to Wendy (who was still happy with it). I could have avoided that if I had looked them up, though.

I had a villager move in on Toy Day. Saved him for last. I looked on Thonky for birthday gifts and an item in Jingle's bag was on BD list. Success!

If it gets closer to Toy Day and you still have a few villagers you don't have figured out then make a couple of extra playable characters. - All 4 humans in your town get the same bag of items and they go to the same villagers, so if you get it wrong with one of them you can just load the next and try again. ;D

Yep, that might be easier, and it stops the situation I had where all the xmas gifts suddenly flooded re-tail and Chow had 3 modern wood lamps in his house.
But my way gets mystery bags to keep! 8D
