I've been grinding the Dream Suite for the badges today and there's an awful lot of towns called stuff such as New York, London and Paris.

So, what's the story of your own town name?

My Wild World town was called DS Land because, well, I was holding a DS. Now this New Leaf town has a '3' in front of it because it's on a 3DS. Creativity to the max!

My its call zebilage

Because on the GameCube I had thevile as in the village
So I decide to name it like that again as in the village
But with a bit of zebra so saying "zeb" as "the" and "ilage" as village

My City Folk town was called Dogland. The story is my dog was close by, or something of that nature. I don't really know what was going through my head because Dogland is an extremely dumb name.

-=+=-

My New Leaf is called Ashville. I wanted it to be a Pokemon themed town (Ash like the trainer who needs to be replaced and ville like a town). Later, I discovered Ashville is a real place in Ohio.

My wild world town was called Happyton because wild world always had a cheerful, homey vibe to me
My New Leaf town is called Paris....because I couldn't think of a town name and the news of Paris terrorist attacks was everywhere so I named my town Paris in honour of the people affected by the attacks.

My town name is ColdBurn because it sounds cool and found it by using a town name generator. xD

Wild World (Lyseria): I stole the name from my sims medieval village. It doesn't have any meaning (it might have but not to me), it's just a fantasy name I came up with.

I think my Wild World town was Startown, because... I couldn't think of anything else at the time.

My New Leaf town is Clover. I wanted something that sounded cute, and I like the idea that it's a lucky town because four leaf clovers are lucky! I was wearing a gold four leaf clover necklace the day I made the town. xD

My town is called Bevelle after a place in Final Fantasy X. It was very beautiful in the game and I thought it would translate well to being an AC town name as it is similar to "Bells" :)

my Wild World town was called Somethin, because i couldn't think of anything. i named my character Nachoz for some reason.

my New Leaf town is called Bubbles because i wanted a pinkish, girly town. i was going to call it Mystical but i wasn't seeking a dark, mysterious town. i'm glad i chose Bubbles, though it isn't a girly town. if i decided to do a creepy town, visitors would get a rude awakening when they realized it was creepy instead of a princess-y, pink town..

Kinsale: the name of a little village in Ireland I've always wanted to visit :')
Celadon: I'm lame and love fancy color words
Nerida: means mermaid, one of my absolute favorite things

My town is called Glendale. It's from the first episode of Bravest Warriors :3

My main town is named Haunton. It's a combination of haunting and town, because I'm terrible at naming things. It's a horror-themed town, so there you go.

My bird town is named Tanas in reference to a place in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. The reason it's an all-bird town is kind of a joke if you know the context.

Do you think all these towns called Paris could be related? Been doing more grinding and the number of them is insane! They're all created before the attacks though so that theory seems unlikely. Perhaps Luna is just biased.

Miami because that's where I actually live, plus it feels cool for villagers to say that they like living in Miami, just imagine if they were my real neighbors or something lol

I can't remember what I named my Wild World town, but I now have three New Leaf towns (five, if you count the two I've been playing for my husband):

Balamb - My original town. I wasn't feeling very original, and I was really upset over the character limit and not being able to name my town Daguerreo. So, I went with Balamb because I was impatient and couldn't think of anything else.

Bunifrey - My husband made this one up for me. I got a second copy and wanted to make a town in honor of our bunny, Princess Bun Bun McCloud, who passed away. I couldn't come up with a town name I liked, so he made up this one.

Gemedet - I love the Myst books, and my favorite is The Book of Ti'ana. Gemedet is the name of a popular board game in D'ni (the world and race of the series) and is also the name Aitrus and Ti'ana give to the Age (world) they were writing. I could've gone with D'ni, and I'm pretty sure I did in my City Folk town, but I wanted something a bit more...esoteric, I guess? And something that would have more meaning.
