Hi, guys! So, once I get my new 3DS up and running, I plan to get back into playing New Leaf, just 'cause I've been part of this community so long now that I feel like I should start being a little more active in the aspects of what it was made for, you know? Now, I could really do with some tips on how to get back into playing, exactly. What tips do you lot have on town design and things? I remember trying to accomplish a woodland theme when I last played, which was working out quite well. Any tips for woodland towns?

Are you planning to create a whole new town or edit your old town?

For me, I find ACNL most fun when you're building your town and take breaks here and there to invite close friends over to play, help you with your town, go to the island, etc... If you can find some close friends where you can build your town up with them then the experience is a lot richer overall ^^.

Definitely lots of trees and mushrooms! November is a good month for collecting mushrooms at least. :)

And maybe try to have a lot of deer, squirrels, bunnies, maybe even Chief since he looks like a fox?

Hmm, all tree types and kinds, all fruits, and some flowers, lots of greenery!

probably a more darker colour theme for wood like patterns as pathways and coconuts/bananas on the beach!

Planning just to edit my current town. The layout is good enough so that it can be easily customised and rearranged, which comes in handy for stuff like this. I'll be sure to seek help when I'm doing all this!

As someone else said, I suggest using a lot of mushrooms. I think apple trees might fit that theme a bit too, I don't know? My suggestion is to just do it in little bits at a time. I found if I tried to do too much at once, it got really exhausting and made me want to quit altogether. I've just been winging my town design and it's really been working out. If you want to use patterns, you could search through the Able Sister's section of the forums or do some searches on Google for paths that might fit your theme. I personally used Tumblr a lot to find nice patterns for my town.
