hey so i'm stuck on what i should do with my town.
i have this one big open spot where i have absolutely nothing and i don't know what to put there..

think some of you can come visit my dream town and help me think of ideas on what to do with it?
the spot is by lucky's house, but feel free to look around and give any other ideas as well!

thank you to all that visit! my dream address is, 5300-5265-5454.
i JUST did a quick dream address update, it's no where near finished so don't judge the mess.

I'll come check it out and edit this post with suggestions.

Wow, your town is really pretty! I can see you put a lot of time and work into it.

I think for the blank area, a small park might be nice. Another option is an art installation of some kind (like the rotating cube, but more fitting to your town style).

You could also arrange bushes to make a maze of some sort for your dream visitors.
Another option could be a little game involving digging? Like a treasure hunt with a little standee sign off to the side.

You could fill space too by creating a wedding or event area with logs as seats. Perhaps using the flower arch at the top.

It might be nice to have a bell or wishing well and make it a special area where visitors come to make wishes.

Either way, I really like what you've got going on here. I feel this real deep forest and nature kind of theme, but at the same time it feels modern because of all the illuminated PWPs.

I also have to commend you on how well you hid your rocks. I only saw a couple.

- you can save the spot for a pwp that you're trying to get (some neat pwps are a bus stop, picnic blanket, etc, and use some paths that go with them if you can find any)
- i've seen quite a few paths that take up like 5x5 spaces with some really neat designs, but they usually require making another resident
- cover it with a pattern of hybrids
- make a new resident, put their house there and give it an exterior set

oh my goodness thank you go much, i have like 7 rocks and 5 ponds bc i'm an idiot but i wasn't gonna let that stop me in the end. XD

i LOVE your idea for the little dig game / maze idea. i love bushes so that might be what i do! i can use it to hide all the presents for my dreamers to dig up and wear / play with. thank you so much for so many of the ideas. gahhhh <3

No prob, I really love your town layout and how you have your houses and neighbors set up. There's just a lot of thought put into the design. I'm glad I could help ^^

idk if you visited my town or not, but a lot of pwps are already in use in my town.

i don't know if a giant like 5x5 or 6x6+ pathway will really look good in my town at all.. it's a huge space and just throwing down a random path there seems.. idk.

the bus stop is an idea i thought about putting there, but idk how it would look, randomly just existing. maybe ill play around w/ it.

thank you for a few ideas. :)

gahh thank you! this was my first town and i literally picked the first map rover gave to me so i had no idea i could change things around for maps and hopes. it makes me happy to hear that my town isn't a total failure. <3 gahh. thank you so so so much.

your town is gorgeous :) you could put a sitting area with a book or something on the ground next to it or a perfect fruit orchard or a picnic area or some sort of flower arrangement

this sounds really really cute too! the book idea especially! oh my goodness!

gahh thank you so much. i love hearing feed back about my town progression. really helps at keeping me motivated to continue. part of me wants to look at hwat crazy QR ideas are out there. someone also mentioned maybe trying to put a zen garden there, but i feel like it'll stand out and not fit into the "theme" of the town. ya know?

hmm actually i think a zen garden might go nicely with your town since its pretty naturey. personally i have mixed feelings about the zen garden i think it can look kind of weird if not placed strategically. but your town is lovely how long did it take you to make this much progress? :)

i got my game in feb of 2015. but i stopped playing for like 8 months of that time.. so give or take like 4-5 months of like actual work maybe. joining this forum is what really helped me out, because it's how i learned so much and trading is what really got me where i am now. <3 gahhh.

i'm picky about the zen garden thing too, i'm not very keen on the bamboo either, i think it looks to messy most of the time. :(

bump.

still looking for more ideas! help a guy out !! 5300-5265-5454

~i would help but dream suite is not available yet... anyways good luck getting inspiration! ^~^

To be honest I found your town difficult to navigate due to tree and bush placement. I also liked the studio theme in Yixing's house and the hotel theme in Tae's house. Otherwise your town is beautiful and I like your path placement. I like it when there are activities for me to do like eat fruits, change clothing or use streetpass items. But overall I like your town.

it's not completed so theres no outfits to change into or anything like that yet, it's in it's progression state still. but once i finish all my pwps and such, there will be items to play with and outfits and stuff along those lines.

for the difficulty to navigate, was it the twon as a whole having the tree / bush issues or are you talking about places off the path? because most places off the paths don't have any sort of navigation and i didn't plan on people running through back doors, haha.

thank you for viewing my town regardless, <3 my big issue i'm having is with the empty spot by re-tail. i can't think of anything to put there.

The paths were great but I like to roam the town so the zigzag and diagonally placed trees were difficult to navigate through. But if your aim is to use the paths only, I really loved your designs. There were plenty of marked paths. I wasn't sure what area you wanted input on so I missed the empty area. I could visit again really quick but I have to go soon. I totally understand not having activities when you are still building your town.

you're always welcome to visit!
i was thinking about adding in the uchi bus stop pwp in the big spot by re-tail but i feel like it would look super out of place if i do. :< someone suggested a cute little digging game, but i'm unsure of how that would look / how to go about it.

thank you for any and all input, it really does help!

I also think a bus stop would be out of place. I think either a fire pit, fountain or statute fountain with some seating might be better. And thank you for allowing me to visit at any time.

I'm not sure what a digging game would entail either.

like i think the bus stop looks super super cute, but like, i also feel like it needs something to add to it, like a road or something, like where is a bus gonna come from? unless it's the nekobus from my neighbor totoro but that wont happen in my town. x')

i don't have the fire pit pwp, but i can farm for it and see how it looks in there! i have the statue fountain tho! i guess i gotta just play around with some things and find what fits the best. thank you so much for visiting and helping with some ideas! :)

Hey, I visited your dream and I must say that I like your town. Really nice!

My first thought when I saw that empty spot next to Lucky's house was that it would be a perfect spot for a cozy little park. Also, I gotta agree with Cass123, a bus stop would feel out of place, at least if you were going for a park. My advice would be to just play around with some pwp:s and see what works best. Good luck!
