Tom's Journey

[Trent the Paladin]

Yeah, I gave up on my old for a few reasons, and I came to learn how I hated it's use of words and the little descriptive details it had. So I began anew. Oh, and chapters will be directly linked to the post it was on. Also, if you have a better name for it, help would be a appreciated.

Characters:

Tom- Our story's main hero. Son of the Skylar and Kyle Potter, he is constantly force to take care of his little sister, Lily, when they are away on their missions. He has dark blown hair and bright blue eyes. Brave, hard-headed and strong, he has the attributed of a Pokemon Master hopeful. He usually wears a black t-shirt, blue pants, size eleven red and black shoes, and a red vest that's zipped over his black t-shirt. (Think FR/LG Trainer!) He is ten in chapter one.

Lily- Tom's eight year old sister, she attends Trainer School daily. Just like her older brother, she has dark brown hair and blue eyes. She was given a Pichu on entry to Trainer School, which she named Pika, after her grandmother's Pikachu. She wears a white t-shirt and a pink striped skirt, size 4 pink shoes.

Skylar- Tom and Lily's Mother, and wife to Kyle, she was one of the best trainers in Kanto. She had been part of the Johto Elite Four, before they dispersed each on self assigned missions. She met Kyle during a Magma raid, and fell in love with him. She has dark blond hair and blue eyes. She likes to wear a pink jacket with a plain white t-shirt and plain blue pants, size 7 black shoes. She and Kyle often go on raids on the different evil teams.

Kyle- An ex-Magma member, he met Skylar on one of the raids. Unlike his wife, he has dark brown hair. Just like his wife's taste in clothes, he like to wear a black jacket, red t-shirt, size thirteen shoes and blue jeans.

[Trent the Paladin]

<big><big><big>Prologue</big>

*Alert! Alert,*a machine's voice yelled over the intercom, *Security breach in sectors one through five, capture the intruders!*Rocket members scrambled throughout the base, scouring the base's every nook and cranny for the two intruders. They knew what the intruders happened to be looking for within their main base. However, those items that was wanted by the intruders were safely with their boss, Giovanni, a strict and mean boss, the take no prisoners man, a man who was safely up in the air. The items were for him and the team only, and the other teams and bounty hunters couldn't have it, so what chances would these intruders have?

Giovanni, safely up in the air, opened the chest with the items needed to reveal those who were considered prizes amongst bounty hunters and Pokemon collectors. "A Key to a old inn in the Sinnoh region," he thought, " a Azure Flute, a Letter from Oak, a Navel Rock Pass, a Birth Island Pass, a Special Rock, a frozen light blue Egg with a red dot in the middle surrounded by several yellow dots, a Old Sea Chart, a Eon Ticket, a Gold and Sliver Pokeball, a Silver Wing, and a Rainbow Wing." He could feel the power of them all surging through his hands, but he knew that he must have them all to feel the full potential. " The egg and rock," he said to himself quietly, "can be easily hatched and opened, all I have to do is give it a foolish trainer, and assign members to watch over them and take them when the time is right. But the other items will be a challenge, after all, they are moving around in their hidden locations. Those who new about them were foolish to keep them away from me, and protect these items cost them their life."

"Sir," a commanding officer spoke while bowing to Giovanni," we have captured the intruders aboard the plane, hiding in the baggage hold. Do you wish to see them before tossing them overboard?"

"Yes, I would like to see the look of defeat and despair on their faces, I need a good chuckle," Giovanni replied.

"I'll bring them and their Pokemon we confiscated right away boss," the commanding officer spoke, marching out of the room, and returned with some low ranking members and the prisoners.

A moment of silence began when Giovanni tried to get a good look at them. He had to admit, they took enough measures to sneak aboard, stealing Rocket uniforms now torn and battered, hats in ruins, and no boots. One had dark blond hair, the other dark brown.

"So, you too washouts, burglar wannabes, common thieves not suitable for high risk missions, honestly thought you could get away with this? Your moves obviously didn't work, or you wouldn't be here, cuffed and in chains. You're lucky, you the only two I've ever spared a few minutes, unlike those Legend Protector fools, who I shot instead. You two are just going to be thrown off the plane, into the ocean below without your Pokemon and still in chains. Commander, remove their masks now!"

"Yessir," the Commander replied with a shout," you two grunts keep them still, now!"

The Grunts kicked the two intruders in their faces, causing them to bleed, and giving the grunts a evil chuckle. The Commander walked to them, bent down, and removed their masks and hats. One of them, a female, tried to resist during the demasking only to get a kick in the back to end the rebellious behavior. Her long hair was fell down once the hat was removed, and Giovanni saw her bloody face, with light blue eyes. The other had dark brown hair, short, and had blue eyes also. He knew who they were now, the famous Potter Parents. They were know for the battling, Skylar, the female, was a ex-Elite Four member from the long dispersed Johto Elite Four, and Kyle, the male, was known for his betrayal against Team Magma with Skylar and the other Jotho Elite Four members.

"Well, what a fitting end for you two... Dieing for something that you've done all your pathetic lives. It's a shame you won't be able to see your son get his first Pokemon tomorrow, you'll be drowning in the ocean by the storm to come."

Skylar jumped up trying to punch Giovanni, only to withheld by the chains. "If you dare lay a had on him I swear I'll kill you."

"Oh he won't die," he smirked," at least not as fast as you."

And then with a swift nod he sent, they were thrown off the airplane to the deep blue sea below.

Giovanni looked at Tom's picture. " He's my foolish trainer, him and his sister."

<big><big><big>Chapter 1</big>

Tom awoke around 5:30 am, the day of his birthday. He crept out of bed, heading for the bathroom. He stopped at his parent's room, to see that they weren't they.

"It's been two weeks, and they haven't returned from their mission," he spoke quietly to himself," I can only hope what Uncle Will said was wrong. I refuse to believe them to be dead... But still, they would have been back by now, escpecially since it's my birthday today. At least Will said he'd watch the house while I leave for my Pokemon journey with Lily, but Lily, she doesn't know what Mum and Dad do when they leave, and the only I know was because I spied on them."

There was a knock on the door, cutting off the rest of his thoughts from being said.

"Open up, it's the PI!"

"The PI? What could they want, especially at 5:30 am."

Lily came out of her bedroom and groggily said," Tom, what's going on? Is ma and dad back?"

"I dunno, and Ma and Dad isn't back yet. Do you have Pichu with you?"

Before they could reply the front door opened with five people coming inside. And then one of the turned on a light, to reveal that it was Will, Lance, the Officer Jenny of Virdian City, and two unknown people all turned their heads to Tom and Lily.

"Uncle Will? What's going on, and this early in the morning?"

Will took a long pause and began to speak," Tom, Lily I dunno how to say this but, your parents are being proclaimed dead later today. We've searched far and wide and nary a sign of them being alive is out there. We've sent the best Pokemon Rangers and trainers we could to help out, and they're going to search the ocean today for them."

Lily awoke fully upon hearing they were to be proclaimed dead today, piped with some tears starting to form,"You're just going to do that and give up in a week, aren't you guys?"

Tom turned his ead directly into his sister's gaze and said," Lily, how could you say that? I'm sure they wouldn't do that, and even if they did I'll search for them myself," he quickly turned to Uncle Will,"So if you came to tell us that, why'd you bring the others?"

"Officer Jenny, can you explain this for me to young Lily here, I need to speak to Tom in private."

She nodded and then Will led Tom into his Tom's parents room and closed the door behind them.

"Tom, the is another reason we're here, and it's to escort you to Professor Oak's Lab. We believe that the leader of Team Rocket murder you parents, like he did to some other people. We believe that he may want to kill you and your sister, so we're going to protect you until you get your first Pokemon. After that we're going to go search for your parents, and I will not stop until I find one of them. If we find one, we'll likely to find the other y searching in that given area or consult them if they knew where the other drifted."

"And if they're dead?"

"Let's try not to think about that. Do you have anymore questions for me before I'm forced to leave?"

"Yes, I have a few. Why the escort, wouldn't attract attention? And why can't you come?"

"I feel safer know that you're protected, and the reason I can't come is classified at the moment."

Lance knocked on the door," Are you two done? We're ready to go. Tom, you're just going to put on some clean clothes, we need to leave now so we won't attract attention."

After a few minutes passed, they left the Potter house. A soon as they hit the outskits, someone began to walk towards them.

"Who's there," Lance asked.

"It is I, Giovanni the Gym Leader of Virdian. I heard the news from Jenny. I felt terrible, so I came with gifts for those who have lost those closes to them, you know, for Tom and Lily. And to offer a ride in my Limo, as I'm sure you all have better things to do, as to continue the search."

"Thank you," Lance, Lily and Tom said.

"I'll trust them with your care Giovanni."

Tom and Lily climbed in to the limo after Giovanni got in. After thirty minutes of silence passed, Giovanni broke it," Tom , Lily, I want to show you somethings. They're in this container," he said opening it," they're alot of things my grandfather had," lying," and I want you two to have these three. Tom, I want you to have this rock and yellow dotted egg, and for Lily, you get this Pokemon egg."

Intoxicated by their gifts, they mindlessly said thank you, when the Limo screeched to a halt.

"We're here. I hope you enjoyed your ride," Giovanni said," and the best of luck for you two."

Giovanni then sped away, and said to himself," That was too simple. "

Meanwhile, Tom and Lily walked up Oak's walkway to see the Professor waiting for them.

"Welcome, I'm Professor Oak as you may know. You're Tom and Lily correct?"

"Yes sir."

"Come in, and choose your Pokemon now."

When they entered the starter Pokemon room, Tom saw four Pokemon waiting to greet him.

"Tom, you get to choose from these four Pokemon. First up is Bulbasaur, secondly is Charmander, thirdly is Squirtle, and lastly, Pikachu. Choose wisely, they may be partners for life."

Staring at them all, he came to a choice. "I want Pikachu."

"Alright then, he's his Pokeball, your Pokedex, and five empty Pokeballs. I wish you the best of luck on your journey."
