Tomodachi Life going to other islands

anyone know how to get to other islands or have others visit you, I have the port open but im not sure where to go to do it, I wasnt really paying attention when they explained it

We haven't figured it out yet but it looks like it's local play only, not wifi.

I read the manual and went to the town hall too to try it out.. It's only local play not wi-fi. It's very disappointing. Local play is useless for me.

I never had 1 single visitor with local play on AC. Obviously my import shop, campsite and port are not going to have any business.
