Since this is my first AC game, there's something I'm wondering regarding future events.

In the previous games, did the events repeat itself year after year?

I'm trying to figure out if we're gonna get new mush DIYS next year, or bunny day DIYS, or CB DIYS, etc...
Or are we gonna get the same ones?

In past games, it was always the same thing, but as for New Horizons, I think we might be getting some new stuff every year. So far from every article I've been reading says Nintendo will be release new content next year, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was indeed new stuff. :3

In past games they indeed repeated the same events year after year. Why some of us think that might change for New Horizons is because this has been the only game so far with live updates, which leaves open endless possibilities.

Nintendo has come out to say that they'll be releasing regular updates so that players will be playing NH "for a long time." So maybe we'll see lots of new stuff on the horizon, no pun intended lol.

Yeah, events repeated themselves in previous games. If you 100%ed an event in a single year, there was basically no incentive to go back and do it again.

I think the mush and cherry blossom DIYs will probably return the same next year, but the holiday DIYs might be different.

As far as new events for Bunny Day and such, I can see that going one of two ways. People who have been playing since launch (or who are agreeable to TTing) will be happy that they get new events and DIYs. However, people who are getting the game for the first time this Christmas, let's say, might be upset that they permanently missed out on last year's content. We won't really find out which camp Nintendo intends to appease (or if they find a way to make both camps appeased) until next Bunny Day.

I was assuming that they would repeat, with maybe a few new DIYs added on top of the ones that already exist - so that players who missed the seasonal DIYs the previous year still have a chance to get them, and players who already have all the previous DIYs can still look forward to getting a few new ones. But if they add a whole new set of DIYs and more events with every year that would be great! It really depends on how long they plan to release updates for, and how much content they're holding back to release in the future updates.

they repeated every year in previous games and, honestly, i hope that continues with NH. my girlfriend only got the game in... late august, i believe, which means she missed at least bunny day. my sister gave her some duplicate recipes from the event but if it doesn't repeat next year, she'll miss 90% of them, as will anyone else who started playing since.

I only started playing a little over a month ago and I'm hoping that at least the main DIYs and items from events repeat (or there's an option to purchase them from nooks or something) because I would hate to miss out on some of the stuff released earlier in the year. on the other hand, I hope they do add a little variation because in earlier games it got a little repetitive when every year bunny day would be exactly the same

I agree with what others have been saying. Even though in the past their was only one year's worth of material since Nintendo said they'd be updating for over a year I think we'll get something new. But who knows what that'll be...

In past games, the events repeated every year, but I think New Horizons will probably add new stuff to the events next year since this is the first animal crossing game where Nintendo is regularly adding content with updates.

If it is going to be different events every year for a while, I will need to go back and play some of the events.
I ended up having to get my switch fixed. So now I have to redo bunny day, bloosom event, wedding event, can't remember what else.

So the last main animal crossing came out in 2012/2013. Big patches weren't super big back then, especially on the 3DS. So we don't really know if they are going to make major changes to holidays, because back then it wasn't even a thing they were thinking about.

I doubt they will remove the way to get those items. Maybe they will add MORE Halloween items or MORE events, but like Mush DIYS will still be available. If that makes sense.
